The Opportunity:
An effective digital modernization program requires highly effective technologists who are passionate about guiding it through the complexities of its lifecycle. Booz Allen is seeking an experienced Digital Transformation Specialist to support mission-critical modernization efforts across the defense enterprise. In this role, the candidate will help clients accelerate digital transformation by aligning mission needs, technology strategy, governance, and organizational adoption.
As a digital modernization specialist on our team, you'll help design, implement, and maintain impactful programs by guiding stakeholder requirements from inception through execution and sustainment. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical, strategic, and client-facing skills to help assess current-state environments, define future-state transformation goals, and support implementation of digital initiatives. This person will work with senior stakeholders to improve mission effectiveness, modernize processes, and enable secure, scalable, and data-informed decision-making.
As an authority in the Air Force market and DoD enterprise, you'll identify opportunities to grow the business by supporting your client's mission. You'll also broaden your expertise in problem management, strategic planning, reviewing contracts, and more. This is your chance to impact DoD customer technology experience while sharing your knowledge and expertise of program management methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the planning and execution of digital transformation initiatives aligned to defense mission priorities.
  • Analyze current-state business and technology environments and help define future-state operating models, roadmaps, and modernization strategies.
  • Partner with stakeholders across the DoD to support alignment with enterprise objectives, governance, and policy direction.
  • Develop strategic recommendations related to IT modernization, digital operations, business transformation, automation, cloud adoption, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Support working groups, stakeholder sessions, executive briefings, and decision support activities.
  • Translate complex technical and organizational issues into clear, actionable recommendations for leadership.
  • Contribute to communications, reporting, briefings, implementation planning, and change enablement efforts.
  • Help identify risks, dependencies, and adoption challenges associated with digital initiatives.
  • Support the integration of transformation requirements into program planning, operations, and execution activities.

Join us. The world can't wait.
You Have:
  • 12+ years of experience in digital transformation, IT modernization, strategic transformation, or technology consulting in federal or defense environments
  • Experience developing analyses, roadmaps, recommendations, or implementation plans for digital or enterprise transformation initiatives
  • Experience briefing senior stakeholders and communicating across technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience with governance, strategy, modernization planning, or enterprise change in mission-focused environments
  • Experience creating high-quality client deliverables, briefings, readouts, and strategic documentation, and operating in complex federal environments
  • Knowledge of DoD organizations and priorities
  • Ability to synthesize complex mission, process, and technology issues into executive-ready recommendations
  • Ability to work across leadership, functional teams, and technical teams
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:
  • Experience supporting or interfacing with DoD, DoD CIO, OSD, and OSD CIO
  • Knowledge of navigating technology modernization policies and processes within the DoD
  • Ability to bring stakeholder groups to consensus, compromise, or compliance
  • Possession of strong written and verbal communication skills, in client-facing environments
  • Possession of strong stakeholder engagement skills
  • Project Management Professional Certification

Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.
