Job Description:
Evidence Solutions, Inc. is seeking an accomplished Human Factors Expert Witness with expertise in transportation-related cases as well as personal injury matters such as slip-and-fall cases. The ideal candidate will bring deep scientific and practical knowledge of human capabilities and limitations related to driver behavior, fatigue and sleep deprivation, distraction, looming, visibility and conspicuity, perception-reaction time, positive guidance, expectancy, and related factors that affect real-world incidents. This role is well-suited to a human factors professional who is passionate about applying scientific research and investigations in litigation and helping attorneys understand behavior in complex environments.

This is a unique opportunity for a highly credentialed expert to analyze human behavior, translate scientific findings into clear opinions, and provide compelling testimony that supports legal cases.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Conduct forensic investigations and case analysis involving human performance and behavior in transportation and accident-related incidents.

    • Review case materials, including crash reports,  onsite evidence, and environmental factors to assess human behavior and decision-making in transportation-related accidents.

    • Prepare detailed written reports and expert opinions grounded in human factors principles, peer-reviewed research, and accepted scientific methodology.

    • Provide expert witness testimony in depositions, and trials, translating complex human factors concepts into clear and defensible opinions.

    • Consult with legal teams to identify case strengths/weaknesses, isolate key human-factor issues, and assist in developing litigation strategy.

    • Stay current on human factors research, driver behavior science, fatigue studies, and relevant industry standards.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

    • At least 15 years of experience in Human Factors.

    • Ph.D. in Human Factors, Industrial & Systems Engineering, Human Performance and Cognition, or a closely related discipline.

    • Extensive experience analyzing human capabilities and limitations, driver behavior, distraction, fatigue, visibility, and perception-reaction time.

    • Exceptional analytical skills and the ability to apply scientific methods to real-world incidents.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly explain complex concepts to attorneys, judges, juries, and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

    • Certified Human Factors Professional (CHFP) strongly preferred.

    • Prior expert witness experience, including conducting investigations and preparing expert witness reports and testimony.

    • Experience involving trucking, transportation, roadway design, work zones, and other personal injury-related cases, such as slip, trip, and falls.

Benefits

 What We Offer:

    • Dedicated case management and administrative support from initial client intake to billing and collections that allows you to focus on doing what you love, delivering expert insights.

    • Marketing and business development initiatives designed to generate new case opportunities and expand your reach and visibility in the legal industry.

    • Peer review support and access to a multidisciplinary team of experts across Accident Reconstruction, Trucking, Digital Forensics, Roadway Design, and related specialties.

    • Report writing support and professional development opportunities such as deposition coaching, testimony training, and continuing education in emerging human factors research.

    • Flexible engagement structure.

    • A collaborative environment where your expertise is valued, and your contributions directly influence case outcomes.

If you are a human factors professional with a passion for forensic analysis and explaining human behavior through science, we encourage you to apply. Please submit your CV and any supporting materials highlighting your human factors expertise.
