Overview:
As a Digital Properties Data Engineer 2, you will leverage your technical expertise to solve business problems and contribute to complex initiatives. This role requires a strong understanding of data engineering and DevOps practices, with the ability to serve as a subject matter expert in your area of focus. You will evaluate technology effectiveness through requirements gathering, testing, research, and analysis, and provide recommendations to improve quality and efficiency.
You will collaborate with technical leadership, engineers, and architects to design, develop, and enhance the data and application technology stack. This role also requires ownership of deliverables, adherence to deadlines, and alignment with established standards, processes, and performance metrics.
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, self-driven, and capable of working independently. This individual will lead the implementation of tools and solutions supporting DevOps and API development in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a focus on continuous integration and delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, build, and maintain development tools and infrastructure aligned with architectural direction
  • Partner with stakeholders to understand requirements, define solutions, and drive initiatives forward
  • Automate and enhance development and release processes
  • Develop and test code (unit and integration) to ensure performance, quality, and compliance with requirements
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in production environments to ensure system reliability
  • Collaborate with team members and leadership to meet development standards
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions) using languages like Groovy and Python
  • Diagnose and resolve CI/CD issues by analyzing logs and system metrics
  • Review and analyze code written by others to ensure quality and performance
  • Support multiple API versions, failover strategies, high availability, and deployment patterns (e.g., blue/green)
  • Work with AWS services such as Elastic Beanstalk, ALB/ELB, Auto Scaling, CloudWatch, ElastiCache, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, Lambda, etc.
  • Integrate with APIs and tools including Artifactory, Confluence, JIRA, GitHub, ServiceNow, SonarQube, Black Duck, and WhiteHat
  • Develop scripts (Bash, Python, Groovy) to support automation and integrations
  • Write and review Terraform scripts and monitor Terraform execution logs
Required Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in DevOps, data engineering, or related engineering roles
  • 2+ years of experience with cloud automation
  • Strong communication skills across varying levels of technical expertise
  • Proven troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve issues independently
  • Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum) and tools such as JIRA and Confluence
  • Experience working within the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Hands-on experience with AWS or similar cloud platforms
  • Proficiency with scripting languages such as Bash, Shell, Groovy, and/or Python
  • Experience with object-oriented programming (e.g., Java)
  • Experience with API gateways (e.g., Kong)
  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitHub, Maven/Gradle, GitHub Actions)
  • Experience with infrastructure configuration tools (Terraform, Chef, Puppet, or Ansible)
  • Experience with AWS Lambda and serverless architectures
  • Knowledge of software design principles, architecture, and design patterns
  • Experience with SQL for querying and managing data
  • Ability to communicate technical solutions, guide others, and formalize proposals
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root cause and drive resolution
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a remote environment
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and requirements
  • Commitment to incorporating security into daily responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Experience with Amazon API Gateway
