Job description

We are seeking a dependable and motivated *General Automotive Technician* to

join our growing automotive repair team in Oshkosh, WI. The ideal candidate

takes pride in quality workmanship, accurate repairs, and providing honest

service to customers.


In this role, you will perform *routine automotive maintenance, preventative

maintenance, inspections, tire service, brake repairs, suspension and steering

repairs, battery service, and general mechanical repairs* on a variety of

vehicles.


Whether your background is in a *dealership, independent repair shop,

automotive service center, or general automotive repair*, we are looking for

someone with a strong work ethic, positive attitude, mechanical aptitude, and

commitment to doing the job right.


Our shop provides a professional, team-oriented environment where technicians

can continue developing their skills and take on more advanced repairs as

their experience grows.



Automotive Technician Duties and Responsibilities

Perform routine automotive maintenance and preventative maintenance services

Perform oil changes, lubrication services, and fluid inspections and

replacements


*


Inspect and service automotive *brake systems*, including brake pads,

rotors, calipers, and brake components


*


Perform tire mounting, balancing, rotation, repair, and replacement


*


Inspect and repair *steering and suspension systems*


*


Test, diagnose, and replace automotive batteries and charging system

components


*


Perform vehicle safety inspections and identify potential mechanical problems


*


Inspect vehicles for worn, damaged, or malfunctioning components


*


Perform general mechanical repairs and maintenance


*


Inspect and service belts, hoses, filters, fluids, and other wear components


*


Perform basic electrical and automotive system troubleshooting


*


Follow manufacturer specifications and recommended service procedures


*


Use automotive hand tools, power tools, lifts, diagnostic equipment, and

shop equipment safely


*


Test vehicle components before and after installation or repair


*


Maintain accurate records of completed services and recommended repairs


*


Communicate vehicle concerns and repair recommendations to service

advisors and team members


*


Assist experienced technicians with more complex automotive repairs as

skills develop

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment


*


Follow all company safety procedures and automotive service standards


*


Complete assigned work accurately and efficiently while maintaining

quality workmanship



Automotive Technician Requirements and Qualifications


*


High school diploma or GED preferred


*


Automotive technical school, vocational training, or postsecondary

automotive program preferred


*


Previous *automotive repair or automotive technician experience preferred*


*


Experience in an independent repair shop or automotive dealership is a plus


*


ASE Certification preferred but not required


*


Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills


*


Knowledge of *automotive brakes, tires, suspension, steering, batteries,

fluids, and preventative maintenance*


*


Familiarity with basic automotive electrical and mechanical systems


*


Ability to safely operate automotive lifts, hand tools, power tools, and

shop equipment

Ability to follow repair procedures, service specifications, and safety

protocols


*


Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Dependable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team

Positive attitude and willingness to learn new automotive technologies and

repair procedures
