Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Security Engineer with a focus on security architecture assessments across on-premises and Azure environments. The role includes conducting manual and automated security assessments, identifying vulnerabilities, advising on mitigation strategies, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to strengthen security posture.

This is a contract to hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. Rate: $48.00 to $58.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive security assessments and penetration tests for on-premises networks and Azure cloud, using manual and automated methods for network controls, firewalls, and cloud-native features.
  • Evaluate network security posture during design, implementation, and deployment to align with enterprise standards.
  • Collaborate with application security architects to integrate secure design principles into network infrastructure.
  • Work with IT, DevOps, Application Development, and Enterprise Architecture to uncover vulnerabilities and drive remediation.
  • Integrate security controls and automated testing into CI/CD pipelines for network and cloud deployments.
  • Review and enhance network architecture by identifying threats, risks, and compliance gaps for Azure services such as Azure Firewall, Network Security Groups, and Azure Gateway.
  • Provide guidance on IAM, data protection, and secure connectivity between on-premises and cloud resources.
  • Develop and enforce network security policies, standards, and best practices aligned with frameworks such as NIST, CIS Benchmarks, and OWASP.
  • Stay current with network security trends, Azure security enhancements, and evolving threats.
  • Prepare assessment reports and communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Participate in incident response activities related to network or application security events.
Experience Requirements:
  • 5+ years of professional experience in network security with on-premises and Azure exposure.
  • Understanding of application security architecture and integration with network security.
  • Experience with manual and automated network security assessments, scanning, and penetration testing.
  • Familiarity with SSDLC and DevSecOps practices.
  • Knowledge of Azure security tools and services including Azure Firewall, Network Security Groups, Defender/Security Center, and Key Vault.
  • Communication skills to advise and collaborate across teams.
  • Relevant certifications such as Azure Security Engineer Associate, CISSP, CEH, or CCSP are a plus.
  • Ability to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
  • Ability to meet the West Los Angeles, CA location requirement.
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field preferred.
