About the Opportunity

We are hiring OSP Fiber Design Engineers to support large-scale FTTH (Fiber-to-the-Home) network expansion projects across the U.S. This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-impact fiber deployments in a fast-growing telecommunications environment.

If you have experience in fiber design, OSP construction, telecom engineering, or utility infrastructure, this role offers hands-on involvement in real-world network builds while working remotely.

What You’ll Be Doing

As an OSP Engineer, you will be responsible for reviewing, validating, and supporting fiber network construction and design projects, including:

  • Reviewing FTTH/FTTx designs including:
    • New builds, span & drop replacements
    • Aerial and underground fiber installations
    • Risers, MDUs, vaults, bores, and trenching
  • Ensuring proper installation of:
    • Fiber optic cable, splice cases, cabinets, and splitters
    • Bonding and grounding of messenger strand
    • XWDM (Wavelength Division Multiplexing) components
  • Performing quality control checks on active construction projects
  • Supporting contractors by answering questions related to design prints and specifications
  • Interpreting engineering drawings for:
    • Aerial cable placement
    • Underground routing
    • Splicing procedures
  • Working with permitting agencies and understanding Right-of-Way (ROW) requirements (DOT, city, county, railroad, etc.)
  • Coordinating with engineering teams to ensure designs meet project standards

Required Qualifications

We are open to entry-level candidates, but you must have a foundation in telecom or construction-related environments.

  • Basic understanding of Outside Plant (OSP) networks
  • Exposure to fiber optics, telecom, or cable infrastructure
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings or construction prints
  • Familiarity with FTTH / FTTx network concepts
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency with basic computer tools (Microsoft Office, etc.)

Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Skills

These are not required but will help you stand out:

  • Experience with:
    • AutoCAD, QGIS, or Google Earth
    • OSP construction standards and design practices
    • MDU (Multi-Dwelling Unit) design and construction
  • Knowledge of:
    • Right-of-Way (ROW) processes and permitting
    • Cost estimation for OSP projects
  • Exposure to:
    • Microduct fiber systems
    • Flexnap or Hexatronics solutions

What You’ll Gain
  • Work on large-scale fiber network deployments in a high-growth environment
  • Remote flexibility while supporting real infrastructure builds
  • Opportunity to grow into more advanced telecom engineering roles
  • Exposure to cutting-edge fiber technologies and design practices

Pay & Benefits

$27–$34/hour (based on experience)

Eligible contractors may receive:

  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • 401(k) with pre-tax and Roth options
  • Life insurance & disability coverage
  • Health Savings Account (HSA)
  • Paid time off (PTO) and sick leave
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

Additional Details
  • Contract Length: ~4–6 months (potential for extension)
  • Schedule: Standard business hours (EST)
