Job description

A3 Consulting is seeking an experienced ServiceNow Application Engineer to join a mission-critical team and play a key role in developing a custom Insider Threat application for the Department of Defense (DoD). If you enjoy tackling complex challenges and building secure, scalable solutions, this role is for you!
In this job you will:
  • Design, develop, and maintain custom scoped applications on the ServiceNow platform, ensuring high performance, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Translate user stories into clean, efficient, and maintainable code, building out custom workflows, pages, script includes, and other platform components.
  • Collaborate with UI/UX designers and stakeholders to create an intuitive and effective user experience that meets the needs of DoD analysts.
  • Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis for software issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Develop and consume REST and SOAP APIs to create secure, reliable integrations with external DoD data sources and systems.
  • Leverage ServiceNow Integration Hub to build and manage robust connections, ensuring seamless data flow and process automation.
  • Write secure code using DevSecOps and Agile principles that complies with DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) and DISA STIG requirements from the ground up.
  • Actively participate in the Agile SDLC, contributing to Sprint Planning, Peer Reviews, and team collaboration to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Support the Assessment amp; Authorization (A amp;A) process by providing technical details and ensuring the application meets all security controls.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on software development experience on the ServiceNow platform, with a strong focus on custom application development.
  • Proven experience developing custom applications on the ServiceNow App Engine platform within a federal or DoD environment.
  • Experience developing Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, UI Actions, Flow Designer, and Service Portal or Workspace components.
  • Strong, demonstrated experience with API development and consumption (REST/SOAP) and practical application of ServiceNow Integration Hub.
  • Expertise in JavaScript, Glide APIs, HTML/CSS, and ServiceNow development best practices.
Desired Qualifications:
  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) or Certified System Administrator (CSA).
  • Experience with Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, Service Catalog, or other advanced ServiceNow platform capabilities.
  • Development experience on programs with dependencies across multiple security enclaves (e.g., NIPR, SIPR, JWICS).
  • Familiarity with DoD security policies and the RMF/ATO process.
Security Clearance:
  • Active Top Secret Clearance Required.

Salary Range:
  • The salary range of this position is $130,000 - $146,000 commensurate with experience and achievement.
