Build the technology behind a smarter, more connected City of Flagstaff-join us as an Applications Architect II for the IT Division!
This position serves as a senior-level Applications Architect for the City, acting as the primary solutions architect for high-complexity projects, a Database Administrator for business applications, and the Tier 3 escalation point for the most complex enterprise application issues. The role leads research and evaluation of emerging technologies, serves as a subject matter expert during technology discovery and procurement, and develops custom solutions using low-code, no-code, and scripting tools to automate business processes. Day-to-day work includes SQL database maintenance, schema design and reverse engineering, API definition, reporting solutions, and participation in 24x7 emergency support for IT infrastructure. Candidates need a bachelor's degree in a related field plus 3-5 years of general IT experience and 1-3 years of specialized experience in areas such as SQL administration, business intelligence, programming, or low-code development, with public safety positions also requiring an FBI background check and ACJIS certification. Success in the role depends on broad IT versatility, independent research skills, strong customer service, and the ability to manage medium-sized projects with minimal supervision. Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management, or Information Systems or a closely related field.
  • 3 years of general Information Technology experience to include 1 year of specialized IT experience in one or more of the following areas:

    2. SQL Database Schema Design
    3. Business Intelligence
    4. Programming
    5. Low-code or no-code solution development
  • Or any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to the above Minimum Requirements.

Public Safety Specific Positions
