Employment Type: Direct Placement (Full-Time)

Industry: Financial Services/Banking

About the Opportunity

TEKsystems is supporting a premier Hawaii-based enterprise organization in their search for a Senior IT Service Management Developer. This individual will play a critical role in shaping the future of the organization’s ITSM platform and processes. This is not just a developer role—it's a strategic, consultative position. The ideal candidate understands not only how to build solutions but why those solutions matter. We're looking for someone who can challenge assumptions, improve processes, and provide thoughtful guidance.

Role Overview

The Senior ITSM Developer will design, develop, and enhance capabilities on the ITSM platform (ServiceNow or similar). This includes creating new features, supporting platform integrations, resolving complex issues, and helping define long-term platform strategy.

Success in this role requires strong technical acumen combined with systems thinking, business process insight, and the ability to translate ambiguous requirements into effective solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Architect, design, and customize solutions across ITSM modules: Incident, Problem, Change, Knowledge, Service Catalog.
  • Lead discussions to understand the why behind business requirements, challenge inefficiencies, and recommend better approaches.
  • Build scalable integrations across enterprise systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex platform issues.
  • Develop dashboards and Performance Analytics (Indicators, Breakdowns, Scorecards, Targets, Widgets, etc.).
  • Drive continual service improvement and platform modernization initiatives.
  • Support Agile ceremonies and backlog prioritization with strategic input.
  • Participate in roadmap planning and evaluate emerging ITSM capabilities and technologies.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or equivalent hands‑on experience.
  • 5+ years developing on ITSM platforms (ServiceNow preferred).
  • 3+ years customizing and implementing ITSM core modules.
  • 5+ years in IT application development or technology solution delivery.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum and sprint planning.
  • Strong understanding of Performance Analytics.
  • ITIL Foundation certification.
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA).
  • Ability to think critically, ask “why,” and challenge assumptions to produce optimal solutions.
  • Comfortable providing consultative guidance versus simply taking orders.

Preferred Qualifications
  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (or ability to obtain within 12 months).
  • ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (or ability to obtain within 12 months).
  • Experience shaping platform strategy or influencing architectural decisions.
  • Familiarity with workflow orchestration and automation.
