What is a remote designer?

Remote designers are creative professionals who work from locations outside of a traditional office environment, often from home or anywhere with an internet connection. They use digital tools to create visual content such as websites, graphics, user interfaces, and branding materials. Remote designers collaborate with clients and teams online, using communication platforms and project management tools. This flexible work setup allows them to work with clients globally and maintain a better work-life balance.

What does a remote designer do?

Remote designers develop ideas on ways to present their company's products and services. Instead of working in the office, remote designers work from home or another location outside the office with internet connectivity. Remote designers work in many different industries; they are found in fashion merchandising, advertising and marketing, computer programming and software development, and manufacturing. Specific job duties vary, depending on the type of industry and the project. But your responsibilities may include collaborating and brainstorming with other designers, engineers, developers, and business analysts to determine how to best display the target product or service and meet your client's needs.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote designer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Designer, you need strong visual design skills, proficiency in design principles, and typically a degree in graphic or digital design. Familiarity with tools like Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Sketch, or other collaborative design platforms is usually required. Excellent communication, time management, and self-motivation help you effectively collaborate with distributed teams and manage projects independently. These skills are crucial for producing high-quality work, meeting deadlines, and ensuring smooth remote collaboration.

What are some common challenges faced by remote designers, and how can they be addressed?

Remote Designers often face challenges related to communication and collaboration, since they are not physically present with their team. Maintaining clear communication through regular video meetings and using collaborative design tools like Figma or Miro can help bridge this gap. Additionally, remote work requires strong self-discipline and time management skills to meet deadlines and balance multiple projects. Proactively seeking feedback and staying engaged with the team through chat platforms can also enhance workflow and project outcomes.

Job description

  • EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-Time
  • LOCATION: Texas
  • SALARY RANGE: $70,000-$130,000 base salary, negotiable based on experience

About the Role

You will take ownership of estate planning, probate, guardianship, and related litigation matters from intake through resolution. This is a hands-on role for an attorney who is equally comfortable developing sophisticated estate plans and advocating for clients in contested proceedings.

You will inherit the support structure needed to focus on legal work rather than lead generation, collections, or administrative follow-up. The ideal attorney can become productive quickly, navigate the firm's technology confidently, and provide thoughtful, high-level counsel to families during some of their most consequential decisions and transitions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead estate planning, probate, guardianship, and trust matters from initial consultation through final resolution.
  • Develop legal strategies for contested and uncontested probate and guardianship proceedings.
  • Represent clients in Texas probate courts in matters including will contests, fiduciary disputes, and related litigation.
  • Draft, review, and approve comprehensive estate plans tailored to clients' family, asset, and legacy objectives.
  • Conduct legal research and develop clear, practical recommendations for complex estate and probate matters.
  • Manage depositions, mediations, hearings, discovery, and other key phases of litigation.
  • Counsel families through wealth preservation, incapacity planning, probate administration, and difficult fiduciary or guardianship issues.
  • Maintain strong client relationships through responsive, empathetic, and straightforward legal guidance.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, administrative professionals, and billing teams to move matters forward efficiently.
  • Manage your caseload and billable work effectively within the firm's established systems and technology environment.

Requirements

Must-Have:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of Texas.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a licensed attorney.
  • Hands-on experience with estate planning, probate, guardianship, or closely related Texas legal matters.
  • Ability to handle both estate planning drafting and litigation responsibilities.
  • Experience representing clients in hearings, litigation proceedings, negotiations, mediations, or depositions.
  • Ability to work effectively within legal practice management and other technology-based workflows.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience handling contested probate, will contests, trust disputes, or breach of fiduciary duty matters.
  • Experience with contested and uncontested guardianship proceedings.
  • Background developing sophisticated or high-net-worth estate plans.
  • Experience joining an established caseload and becoming independently productive quickly.

Benefits

  • Competitive Earnings: Attractive Base Salary (commensurate with experience) + a lucrative bi-weekly billable hour bonus structure with $70k+ annual upside.
  • The Essentials: 401(k) with up to 5% company match. Affordable Medical, Dental, and Vision plans with Short/Long Term Disability and Voluntary Term Life Insurance.
  • Real Balance: Generous PTO, company holidays, and an earned hybrid option (1-2 days remote) designed to protect your work-life balance and mental health.
  • Real Support: Dedicated administrative support and billing teams assigned to your cases so you can focus entirely on managing your clients' journeys.
