Remote Dental Coding focuses on coding procedures and diagnoses specific to dental services, requiring dental-specific certifications. Remote Medical Coding covers a broader range of healthcare services across various medical specialties, often requiring general medical coding credentials. Both roles are performed remotely, but they serve different healthcare sectors and require different expertise.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals working in remote dental coding positions?

Remote dental coding professionals often encounter challenges such as staying updated with changing dental coding standards and payer requirements, managing effective communication with dental teams from a distance, and ensuring data security while working with sensitive patient information. Additionally, remote coders must be highly self-motivated and organized to meet productivity and accuracy targets without in-person supervision. Building strong digital collaboration skills and regularly participating in ongoing training can help address these challenges and support long-term success in the role.

How to get into remote dental coding?

To enter remote dental coding, you should obtain a dental coding certification such as the Certified Dental Coder (CDC) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC), gain knowledge of dental procedures and coding systems like CDT, and develop strong computer skills. Experience in dental offices or medical coding can also improve job prospects, and many positions require the ability to work independently in a home environment.

What are remote dental coding jobs?

Remote dental coding jobs focus on working to code dental procedures and services for billing and insurance purposes. In this virtual position, your duties include reviewing treatment and service information from the dentist and assigning medical codes to each procedure. Your responsibilities include working to document the treatments and submit relevant information to the patient or insurer for payment. A remote dental coding specialist must work under HIPAA guidelines and observe other regulations governing medical coding. You communicate with your employer over the internet or by telephone.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote dental coder, and why are they important?

Remote dental coding is the process of reviewing dental procedures and services and assigning standardized codes for billing and insurance purposes, all performed from a location outside of a traditional dental office, such as from home. Dental coders use the CDT (Current Dental Terminology) coding system to ensure that providers receive accurate reimbursement and that claims comply with insurance requirements. This role requires knowledge of dental terminology, coding guidelines, and attention to detail. Remote dental coders typically communicate with dental offices, insurance companies, and other healthcare professionals via phone, email, or specialized software.

Job description

Customs and Logistics Coordinator
Location: Pulaski, TN | Department: Supply Chain / Logistics | Reports to: Logistics Manager | Type: Full-Time
About Integrity TN
At Integrity TN, we believe reliable operations are built on honesty, precision, and follow-through — from how we treat our people to how we move products across borders. We are growing our supply chain team and looking for a Customs and Logistics Coordinator who shares our commitment to doing things right the first time.
About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented Customs and Logistics Coordinator to manage international shipping compliance, customs documentation, and the smooth flow of goods across borders. You will be the key point of contact ensuring our imports and exports move efficiently while staying fully compliant with trade regulations — upholding the same standard of integrity we bring to every part of our business.
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare, review, and submit customs documentation (commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, bills of lading)
  • Ensure compliance with import/export regulations, tariff classifications (HS codes), and trade agreements.
  • Coordinate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and carriers to manage shipment clearance.
  • Track and resolve customs holds, duty assessments, and documentation discrepancies.
  • Monitor shipments end-to-end and proactively flag delays or compliance risks.
  • Maintain accurate records for audits and regulatory reporting.
  • Stay current on changes in trade law, tariffs, and customs procedures across relevant markets.
  • Optimize logistics costs by identifying efficient shipping routes, carriers, and duty-saving programs.
  • Collaborate with procurement, warehouse, and finance teams to align shipment timing and costs.
  • Support internal and external audits related to customs compliance.
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in customs compliance, international logistics, or freight forwarding.
  • Working knowledge of HS classification, Incoterms, and import/export documentation
  • Familiarity with customs software/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, CargoWise)
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills for coordinating across internal teams and external partners.
  • Ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, International Business, Logistics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Preferred
  • Customs broker license or trade compliance certification (e.g., CCS, CTM)
  • Experience with free trade agreements and duty drawback programs
  • Multilingual proficiency a plus
Why Work at Integrity TN
  • Competitive salary + benefits
  • [Health/dental/vision, PTO, etc.]
  • A team culture built on accountability, transparency, and doing right by our partners and customers.
  • Opportunities for professional development and certification support
  • [Remote/hybrid/on-site details]
