What is a remote delivery driver?

A Remote Delivery Driver is responsible for transporting goods from a distribution center to customers without needing to report to a central office. These drivers typically use their own vehicles or company-provided ones and rely on apps or dispatch communication to receive assignments. The role requires strong time management, navigation skills, and customer service abilities. Many remote delivery driver jobs involve flexible scheduling, making them ideal for gig workers or independent contractors.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote delivery driver?

Remote Delivery Drivers need a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, strong time management skills, and familiarity with navigation tools. Experience with route optimization apps, GPS systems, and sometimes a smartphone or tablet for delivery tracking are often required. Excellent communication, customer service orientation, and problem-solving abilities set top candidates apart. These skills ensure timely, safe deliveries and a positive customer experience while adapting to changing delivery routes or challenges.

What are the typical challenges faced by remote delivery drivers and how can they be managed?

Remote Delivery Drivers often encounter challenges such as navigating unfamiliar routes, handling traffic delays, and ensuring accurate package drop-offs. It’s important to stay updated with GPS tools and route optimization apps, and to communicate proactively with dispatch or customers if delays occur. Working independently, you’ll need to manage your schedule efficiently and verify each delivery carefully. These strategies help maintain prompt service and high customer satisfaction while keeping stress levels manageable.

Why Sony Interactive Entertainment?

Sony Interactive Entertainment isn't just the Best Place to Play - it's also the Best Place to Work. Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) is the company behind the PlayStation brand. As a subsidiary of Sony Group Corporation, we're part of a proud legacy of innovation and excellence. SIE is a dynamic technology company, delivering cutting-edge hardware and network services to more than 100 million people and an entertainment leader, home to some of the most beloved and recognizable intellectual properties (IP) in the world. Our role at SIE is to create and nurture the experiences under the PlayStation brand, a name synonymous with entertainment excellence and creativity.

Role Overview:

PlayStation Studios Finance team is seeking a Manager, FP&A, Creative and Services to join the team. This role will be a key finance partner to Creative Arts, Localisation, and Co-Development studios teams, with direct ownership of financial planning, forecasting, reporting, variance analysis, and business support for Sound and Music teams within Creative Arts. The role will manage two analysts who support broader Creative Arts, Localisation, and Co-Development studios finance activities. The Manager will help business partners understand financial insights, identify risks and opportunities, support cost optimisation, and drive informed decision-making.

The ideal candidate is a strong business partner and people leader with excellent analytical skills, sound judgment, and the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly. You are comfortable building financial models, driving process improvement, supporting business cases, and developing a high-performing team.

This role, hybrid or remote, will preferably be based in Canada or the UK, and will report to the 'Sr. Manager, FP&A - Tech, Creative, and Services' who is based out of San Mateo, CA US.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Lead financial planning, forecasting, and reporting for Sound and Music teams within Creative Arts, while overseeing finance support for broader Creative Arts, Localisation, and Co-Development studio teams.
  • Partner with business leaders and budget owners to identify risks and opportunities, evaluate trade-offs, and influence business outcomes.
  • Drive executive-level reporting and presentation materials that clearly explain financial performance, variance drivers, and recommended actions.
  • Support cost optimisation efforts by identifying opportunities for efficiency, improved planning discipline, and better resource allocation.
  • Own cost allocation methodology, rate-setting, and related processes to ensure Creative and Services team costs are accurately planned, tracked, and allocated to game titles and organisational initiatives.
  • Build ad hoc financial models, business cases, and scenario analyses to support decision-making.
  • Drive standardisation, automation, and process improvements across planning, reporting, and forecasting activities to strengthen financial visibility and improve team efficiency.
  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of finance professionals.

Qualifications:

  • People management/leadership experience preferred, with demonstrated ability to coach, develop, and support finance professionals.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field; MBA or advanced finance certifications are a plus.
  • 7-10 years of experience in financial planning, analysis, or related finance functions.
  • People management/leadership experience preferred, with demonstrated ability to coach, develop, and support finance professionals.
  • Experience in gaming, entertainment, technology, or subscription/live service business models preferred.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Collaborative approach with experience working across cross-functional and global teams.
