Job Summary

Farmers (Woodland Hills, CA) seeks an Analytics Engineer Sr Director to lead the development and implementation of complex data and analytics strategies and solutions to drive business decisions, enhance customer and agent experiences, improve profitability and growth, oversee enterprise-wide data initiatives including governance, and manage a team delivering data solutions. Specific duties include: lead a team who provides ongoing support, maintenance and modification of existing specialized data products or solutions and the flow of data relating to enterprise applications; oversee the collection and reporting of specialized, highly complex data to outside organizations; provide expertise in strategy concepts and coach individuals in this area; lead efforts to define highly complex, specialized solutions and manage the overall development effort; create strategic plans and translate plans to action for individuals or teams within their span of control or teams across three or more business domains; enable continuous improvement opportunities at an enterprise level; consult, manage or execute on data efforts of increased complexity, to understand data, analytic or data governance requirements and existing business processes to lead in the design, development, implementation or management of data products; ensure code, current architectural patterns, data and analytic principles and data governance guidelines are adhered to during execution; share innovative ideas in Data Analytics to leadership; work as an individual, with individuals or small teams to apply data, analytic or data governance concepts to projects or programs; implement AI and Machine Learning models including ongoing monitoring and maintenance; and execute on large, complex projects within timelines. Position requires occasional travel within the U.S. to various Farmers offices. Option to work remotely from anywhere in the U.S.

Position requires a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field of study, plus 7 years of experience in the job offered, or as a Data Analytics Manager, Senior Software Engineer, Data Engineer, Architect, Analyst Programmer, or similar position. Must have 7 years of experience with each of the following: performing data manipulation at scale utilizing programming languages SQL, Python, PySpark, AWS Services (Lambda, EMR, and Sagemaker), and ETL tool Informatica or Ab Initio; implementing automated data pipelines utilizing scheduling and pipeline tools Autosys, Jenkins, Terraform, and AWS Step; and working in the P&C insurance industry. Must also have 3 years of experience with each of the following: working in cloud platforms AWS, Databricks, and Snowflake; performing data modeling utilizing Erwin and ER/Studio; and managing technical resources. Must be willing to occasionally travel within the U.S. to various Farmers offices. Option to work remotely from anywhere in the U.S.
