Some DBAs are responsible for monitoring the data within a database, helping design software, and checking code from other employees before allowing it onto the database. Some aspects vary by industry. For example, if you work for a retail company, you need to ensure the safety of financial information, while DBAs working for research firms focus more on labeling and organizing information.
