Job Description:

L3Harris is seeking an Accounting Specialist for the Enterprise Financial Accounting and Reporting team. The ideal candidate will coordinate and assist in the preparation of financial data and analytics utilized in the Annual Report and the SEC 10Q and 10K filings and have a working knowledge of US GAAP. The candidate will work with stakeholders across all levels of an organization to determine how to create business value through analytics, process automation, data visualization and statistical analyses.  Through use of data analytics, data visualization and data technologies, the Accounting Specialist will assist in developing dashboard solutions that can help other departments, managers and executives make strategic and tactical business decisions.

Essential Functions:

  • Consolidate quarterly and annual schedules and prepare analysis required for financial statement disclosure, including revenue disclosures
  • Prepare in-depth reviews of financial statement accounts by analyzing balances, researching variations, and ensuring accurate reporting
  • Provide management with value-add reporting and insights, including ad hoc analysis to support management inquiries
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with Data Analytics teams to ensure resource optimization, synchronization of initiatives, and to prevent duplication of work across the enterprise
  • Prepare ad hoc reporting and assist with special projects to include assisting in implementing Digital technologies (analytics process automation, data visualization and statistical analyses) to improve efficiency and transparency
  • Apply industry and functional knowledge to identify business drivers and issues

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Solid working knowledge of GAAP
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze financial reports for accuracy and reasonableness
  • Proficient with Excel and PowerPoint
  • Prior public accounting experience, preferably Big Four
  • Experience in percentage of completion Accounting
  • Prior experience and knowledge of revenue recognition accounting methods
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact cross-functionally and at all levels within the organization
  • Proficiency in understanding financial models, data analytics, and presentation skills
  • Experience with Digital Finance tools (Alteryx, Python, PowerPlatform)

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado State, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Vermont and New York State is $63,500-$117,500. For California, Seattle, Washington D.C., Maryland Greater Washington D.C. area, the city of Denver, Washington State and New York City, the salary range for this role is $73,000-$135,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
