Job description


Reports To:  IT Infrastructure and Services Coordinator
Salary:  This is a full-time, 12-month position at 232-days with a minimum annual salary of $82,572.



Summary:


Design, develop, and maintain the data pipelines, integration patterns, and data structures that support ESC Region 13 reporting, interoperability, software platforms, and artificial intelligence initiatives. Provide technical expertise in data integration, data quality, metadata, dashboards, and analytics enablement to support both internal decision making and external project delivery.

This position plays a central role in the Data Task Force initiative by helping create the data lake foundation, reducing data silos, and improving the quality and accessibility of information across systems. The role also supports district and project-based solutions such as Pulse, CIS NAV, dashboards, reporting tools, and future data and AI service offerings.
 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, Analytics, or a related field
  • Two years of experience in data integration, data engineering, business intelligence, analytics, or systems analysis
  • Experience with SQL, data transformation, and structured data management
  • Experience working with data from multiple source systems and supporting reporting or analytics needs
  • Ability to document data flows, troubleshoot data issues, and support technical solutions in a production environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience building ETL or ELT pipelines and working with cloud-based data platforms
  • Experience with Python, Power BI, APIs, dashboard development, or automation tools
  • Experience with data governance, metadata management, and data quality monitoring
  • Experience supporting public sector, education, or student information system environments
  • Experience with AI related data preparation, interoperability initiatives, or application support
  • Certifications or training related to data analytics, cloud data services, Power BI, SQL, or related tools
     

Knowledge/ Skills:


Data Engineering and Integration

  • Strong understanding of data extraction, transformation, loading, data modeling, and relational data structures
  • Ability to build and maintain pipelines that connect multiple systems and reduce reporting silos
  • Familiarity with APIs, data exchange patterns, and interoperability concepts
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms including Microsoft Azure and AWS.
  • Experience administering Windows Server and Linux server environments. 

Analytics and Reporting Support

  • Skilled in SQL and dashboard support for operational and executive reporting
  • Ability to organize data in ways that support reliable analytics, performance measurement, and decision intelligence
  • Knowledge of data quality controls, validation methods, and reconciliation practices

Governance and AI Enablement

  • Understanding of data governance, metadata discipline, and the importance of trusted datasets for responsible AI use
  • Ability to support data structures that enable reporting, software platforms, automation, and AI related workflows

Collaboration and Communication

  • Strong ability to work across departments, technical teams, and project groups to translate operational needs into data solutions
  • Strong documentation, problem solving, and customer service skills
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent technical projects. 
     

Major Responsibilities:
 

  • Design, build, and maintain data pipelines, integration workflows, and transformation processes across Region 13 systems
  • Support the development of a data lake and related data architecture for the Data Task Force initiative
  • Improve interoperability and reduce data silos by connecting operational systems and standardizing data structures
  • Support dashboards, analytics, and recurring reporting for leadership and program teams
  • Maintain documentation of data sources, flows, business rules, and transformation logic
  • Support data quality validation, reconciliation, and troubleshooting activities
  • Collaborate with developers, infrastructure staff, and program teams to support Pulse, CIS NAV, dashboards, and related software initiatives
  • Contribute to AI enablement by preparing governed and structured data for automation, analytics, and intelligent tools
  • Support external or district facing initiatives that depend on analytics, interoperability, dashboard development, or data driven applications
  • Promote continuous improvement in data management, reporting reliability, and technical documentation
  • Perform other duties as assigned


     

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • No direct supervisory responsibilities
  • May provide technical guidance and coordination to project teams, vendors, or temporary support personnel as assigned
