Remote in WA, OR, CA

Join our team in a dynamic hybrid role, offering flexibility to work remotely and from our headquarters in Watertown, MA.

COMPANY OVERVIEW

Disc Medicine is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company committed to discovering, developing, and commercializing novel treatments for patients who suffer from serious hematologic diseases. We are building a portfolio of innovative, first-in-class therapeutic candidates that aim to address a wide spectrum of hematologic diseases by targeting fundamental biological pathways of red blood cell biology, specifically heme biosynthesis and iron homeostasis. Disc Medicine values collaboration, professional development, and scientific integrity and promotes an inclusive company culture that empowers and inspires.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Disc Medicine is searching for a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) that will strategically support the medical objectives of Disc Medicine’s clinical development programs. This role will be responsible for identifying, developing, and maintaining strong relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and a network of healthcare professionals (HCPs), engaging in peer‑to‑peer conversations and providing scientific and clinical expertise.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Identify, develop and maintain strong relationships with KOLs, academic institutions, community centers, and HCPs in relevant areas of focus.
  • Engage in meaningful peer‑to‑peer exchanges with the appropriate therapeutic area community (e.g., hematologists, dermatologists, hepatologists, rare disease community).
  • Serve as a scientific expert and resource, providing accurate support to internal and external stakeholders and timely information about Disc’s clinical data, ongoing research and programs.
  • Provide internal stakeholders with feedback and actionable insights from interactions and discussions with KOLs and HCPs.
  • Assist with company-sponsored trials, investigator‑initiated trials (IITs) or research collaborations.
  • Deliver scientific presentations and trainings to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist with organizing regional advisory boards as applicable, and presenting at advisory board meetings within your territory.
  • Build a trustful and collaborative working relationship with cross‑functional colleagues.
  • Focus on delivering results and demonstrate ownership in key medical projects.
  • Adhere to all relevant compliance and regulatory guidelines, ensuring all activities are conducted ethically and within legal boundaries.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Advanced Clinical/Science degree or professional credentials required (PhD, MD, PharmD, MSc).
  • 5–8 years of industry experience as a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) or in a similar role, including required experience in dermatology; hematology experience strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills and the ability to effectively communicate complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work cross‑functionally and communicate effectively with a variety of internal / external stakeholders and across senior management.
  • Must be intellectually curious, professional, and adaptable.
  • Willingness to travel extensively to engage with KOLs, HCPs, and attend scientific conferences.
  • Strong analytical skills, especially understanding and interpreting scientific and clinical research and literature.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office programs and CRMs is required.

Salary Range: $185,000 - $230,000 USD.

Disc Medicine is an equal‑opportunity employer committed to providing all qualified candidates and employees equal opportunities.
