About the Team
The Data Science team provides critical insights and tools to help the executive leadership team, technology teams, and business units optimize test delivery, test development, and test security. We love having virtual happy hours and celebrating our accomplishments.
About the Opportunity
As a Data Scientist, you are a passionate collaborator who works closely with team members and stakeholders. You relish the opportunity to bring your ideas, love of coding, data savvy, and business acumen to improve processes that are expensive or impossible to perform without machine learning. • Substantially improve the team's productivity and quality by enhancing tools, processes, and code structure
  • Advise other teams on Machine Learning projects and assist with establishing Machine Learning governance
  • Assist in the identification and resolution of production issues

About you, you have:
  • Ideally a Master's in a quantitative discipline or computer science, or a Bachelor's and 2-3 years related experience, or 3+ years related experience.
  • Programming expertise in Python (Pandas)
  • Experience in data and statistical analysis
  • Proven experience in developing Machine Learning (ML) and Deep Learning (DL) solutions to solve real-world problems.
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • A passion for solving difficult problems creatively.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills, and are able to help others understand both problems and solutions.
  • The ability to tell a story with your data.
  • Worked within a close knit team and enjoy helping your colleagues succeed
  • Knowledge in CI/CD, DevOps and Agile
  • Knowledge in developing applications on an Serverless or Microservices cloud platform (AWS/Azure/GCP, etc.)

For all roles at College Board:
We are seeking individuals who are passionate about expanding educational and career opportunities and committed to mission-driven work. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer and should possess clear and concise communication skills, both written and verbal. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite tools is preferred, though a willingness to learn is equally valued. We look for those with curiosity and enthusiasm for emerging technologies, particularly AI-driven solutions, and a proactive approach to independently learning and applying new digital tools. Most importantly, applicants should demonstrate the skills and mindsets aligned with College Board's Operating Principles, reflecting a commitment to continuous growth, collaboration, and impact, notably:
  • A commitment to candid, timely, respectful feedback
  • A learner orientation and an openness to ideas and diverse perspectives

  • Application review will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled. This role is expected to accept applications for a minimum of 5 business days.
  • While the hiring process may vary, it generally includes: resume and application submission, recruiter phone/video screen, hiring manager interview, performance exercise such as live coding, a panel interview, a conversation with leadership and reference checks.
