A data analyst is a highly trained individual that specializes in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data from various resources
Primary tasks of this position are compilation and analysis of data definitions, meaning, usage, labelling standards and other source system information to produce IT consumable information
Data analyst often takes on other additional roles. For one thing, the candidate is expected to possess a certain degree of technical expertise with automatic data collection and reporting systems, including a capacity for program troubleshooting and system security measures
BASIC FUNCTION:
This position is responsible for designing operational and client reports for Utilization and Medical Quality Management division; coordinating data transmission processes; conducting tests on data extracts and reports; performing data analysis; and making recommendations for process improvements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Design operational and client reports for the Medical Management division, working under minimal supervision.
2. Conduct detailed analysis and make recommendations for process improvements.
3. Coordinate data transmission process with end users, ITG, and vendors.
4. Conduct testing on data extracts and reports.
5. Represent the Medical Management division on enterprise projects.
6. Prepare executive summaries and presentations.
7. Build relationships and represent the department with end users, ITG, management and external vendors.
8. Maintain technical skills on relevant systems.
9. Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with co-workers, management, customers, etc.
10. Comply with HIPAA, Diversity Principles, Corporate Integrity, Compliance Program policies and other applicable corporate and departmental policies.
11. Maintain complete confidentiality of company business.
12. Maintain communication with management regarding development within areas of assigned responsibilities and perform special projects as required or requested.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor Degree in Math or Data Information Systems OR 4 years experience in data analysis/reporting.
2 years experience in data analysis and/or preparing database reports.
2 years experience in MS Access and MS Excel.
Experience analyzing and preparing recommendations on process improvement.
Project management experience.
Systems database testing experience.
Verbal and written communications skills to interact with internal customers, management and vendors.
Analytical, organizational and planning skills.
PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS:
MEDecision, CPW, CRIS experience
Experience in the managed care environment.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Required Qualification(s)
SQL, Microsoft Excel, Access,
