Job Description

As the Industry Lead for Water & Wastewater, you will define and execute the strategy that brings Rockwell Automation's Connected Enterprise vision to life across this essential market. You will sit at the intersection of industry expertise, customer engagement, and innovation; owning growth, shaping market direction, and accelerating adoption of next-generation technologies.

You will drive sustained revenue growth and expanding market share while identifying new opportunities across emerging technologies, digital solutions, and services. You will be an advocate for our digital transformation value proposition by advancing software, connected services, consulting, and scalable annuity-based models across the industry.

Reporting to the Regional Industry Director, this remote position will partner with customers, sales teams, and stakeholders. You will deliver market insights, enable go-to-market strategies, and lead business development efforts.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Bring deep experience in enterprise digital transformation within industrial/automation environments
  • Apply an industry-led, customer-centric solution mindset to address complex challenges
  • Stay informed on competitive landscape and industry positioning
  • Partner with business units to influence future technology and service development
  • Define and communicate the "Definition of Winning" to accelerate industry growth
  • Lead and enable the North America industry affinity team to align strategy and execution
  • Equip sales teams with industry insights, messaging, and solution positioning
  • Drive execution of strategic initiatives across North America sales and business units
  • Monitor industry trends, market dynamics, and emerging opportunities
  • Evaluate and guide participation in key industry events and forums
  • Serve as an expert and trusted advisor internally and externally
  • Partner cross-functionally (sales, marketing, global account teams) to deliver growth priorities
  • Develop and communicate Business Strategy Reviews (BSR) and Sales Execution Plans
  • Partner with regional sales teams on account planning, pipeline development, and opportunity strategy
  • Lead North America pursuit strategy for key greenfield and brownfield investments
  • Engage directly with customers to build relationships and drive growth
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., safety, quality, environmental, IP, data protection)
The Essentials - You Will Have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience
  • Legal Authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
  • A valid drivers license.
  • Ability to travel 40% of time.
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
  • Typically requires 12+ years of experience in sales, marketing, or operations in the Automation, Technology, or Digital Transformation field.
  • 5+ more years in the Water/Wastewater industry.
  • Knowledge of technology, solutions, and services in the automation market with an emphasis on IT/OT convergence
  • Knowledge of IoT edge and cloud-based solutions, predictive analytics, and digital solutions
  • Previous global sales experience.
  • Experience with different channels to market and how each one operates.

For this role, the Total Target Compensation is from $177,920 - $266,880 of which 80% is base salary and 20% is variable. Our benefits for the US can be found here. Actual pay will be based on factors such as skills, knowledge, education, and experience.
