Position Summary

CGS is hiring for one of our long time national Financial Services customer who is seeking a hands on REMOTE Data Product Manager / Business Analyst to support the Director of Enterprise Data in delivering the enterprise data roadmap. This is an individual contributor role that combines product management, business analysis, and project management. You will run intake and prioritization, gather and document requirements, manage the Jira backlog, coordinate sprints, and work day to day with data engineers, BI developers, and business stakeholders to move work from idea to delivery. You will also own documentation for data products, including data dictionaries, source-to-target mappings, process flows, and release notes. This is a U.S.-based contract position. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States and be available during U.S. business hours.

Location: Remote, USA (EST preferred)

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Director of Enterprise Data to plan, prioritize, and track the enterprise data and analytics roadmap.
  • Run intake for new data, reporting, and integration requests; assess scope, business value, dependencies, and level of effort.
  • Gather and document business requirements and translate them into epics, user stories, and clear acceptance criteria.
  • Own and maintain the Jira backlog: create and groom tickets, manage sprints and boards, track status, and keep work items current and accurate.
  • Facilitate agile ceremonies including backlog refinement, sprint planning, daily standups, demos, and retrospectives.
  • Work directly with data engineers, BI developers, and architects to clarify requirements, unblock issues, and validate delivered work.
  • Create and maintain documentation such as data dictionaries, source-to-target mappings, data flow diagrams, process flows, runbooks, and release notes in Confluence or SharePoint.
  • Support UAT: build test scenarios, coordinate business testing, track defects, and confirm data accuracy before release.
  • Track project timelines, milestones, risks, and dependencies, and provide clear status updates to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Analyze data to answer business questions, validate assumptions, and support requirement decisions using SQL and BI tools.
  • Coordinate across IT, Operations, Finance, Sales, Marketing, and Compliance to align on data definitions, KPIs, and reporting needs.
  • Help define and enforce data governance practices, including data quality standards, ownership, and change management.

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Analytics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Product Owner, Product Manager, or Technical Project Manager supporting data, analytics, or BI teams.
  • Strong hands-on experience administering and managing work in Jira, including boards, workflows, sprints, and reporting.
  • Proven ability to write clear requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria for data and reporting work.
  • Working SQL skills, with the ability to profile data, validate results, and understand data models independently.
  • Experience with data warehousing and BI concepts such as ETL, data pipelines, dimensional modeling, and dashboard delivery.
  • Strong documentation skills, including process flows, data dictionaries, and source-to-target mappings.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments alongside developers and engineers.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate between business stakeholders and technical teams.
  • U.S.-based contractor authorized to work in the United States.

    Preferred / Nice to Have:

  • Mortgage, lending, banking, or financial services experience, especially loan origination or servicing data.
  • Experience with the Microsoft data stack: Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, SQL Server, and Power BI.
  • Experience with Tableau, Salesforce data, or enterprise system integrations and APIs.
  • Experience with Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar documentation and delivery tools.
  • Familiarity with data governance, data quality, and data cataloging tools such as Azure Purview.
  • Exposure to automation tools such as Power Automate or Logic Apps.
