Job description

Regional Sales Manager – Western U.S.

Remote | Western United States

Are you a strategic sales leader who enjoys building territories, developing channel partnerships, and using data to drive growth?

Our client is seeking a Regional Sales Manager to lead a large multi-state territory across the Western U.S. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys developing long-term sales strategies, coaching independent sales representatives, strengthening distribution partnerships, and identifying opportunities to grow existing business.

This is not a traditional outside sales position focused on cold calling. Instead, you'll serve as the business leader for your region—developing strategy, analyzing performance, and partnering with internal and external stakeholders to execute sustainable growth.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and execute regional sales strategies to achieve long-term growth objectives.
  • Lead and support a network of independent manufacturer's representatives throughout the territory.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with distribution partners and key customer accounts.
  • Analyze sales trends, market performance, and customer activity to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Develop territory plans and business strategies based on market data and performance metrics.
  • Work closely with internal teams to resolve customer issues and ensure an outstanding customer experience.
  • Coach and provide direction to an assigned inside sales partner to prioritize opportunities and support regional initiatives.
  • Evaluate territory coverage and assist in identifying and onboarding new sales representation where appropriate.
  • Travel throughout the territory to support representatives, customers, and industry events while ensuring travel is purposeful and aligned with business objectives.
  • Participate in trade shows and other industry events to strengthen customer relationships and identify new opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate forecasting, reporting, and sales activity documentation.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven success leading a sales territory or regional sales organization.
  • Experience developing sales strategy rather than simply managing day-to-day account activity.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and turn insights into action.
  • Experience working through distribution, channel partners, or independent representatives is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, influence, and build relationships without direct authority.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM/ERP systems.

Industry experience is helpful but not required. Candidates who have successfully managed complex sales territories in other industries are encouraged to apply.

Travel

This position requires regular travel throughout a large western territory.

Travel expectations generally range from 50–75%, depending on business needs and the individual's strategy for managing the region.

Education

Bachelor's degree preferred or an equivalent combination of education and progressive sales leadership experience.

Why This Opportunity?

This is an opportunity to own a large, high-impact territory with significant autonomy. The right person will have the ability to shape regional strategy, influence business growth, work alongside executive leadership, and make a measurable impact on the organization's long-term success.

About Avero

Sourced by ZipRecruiter

In 1997, while working as the CFO of an NYC restaurant group, Avero founder Damian Mogavero, was frustrated with his management team’s inability to answer basic questions about the restaurants’ performance. He wanted a better way to extract the data already being collected by the POS and to enable operators to use it to make better, faster, and more profitable decisions. In 2002, Avero was born. Today, Avero has offices in Dallas, Las Vegas, Boulder, and NYC and is used by over 43,000 operators in 75 countries. And we always stay true to our mission: innovating technology to empower hospitality operators with the answers they need to transform their businesses and their lives.
