Job description

Step into a pivotal corporate leadership role, where you'll guide a team and shape the quality, accuracy, and strategy behind all operational data across WM. You'll partner closely with key operational leaders-including the Operations Improvement team, Area Analysts, and the broader organization-to drive deeper standardization, strengthen system capabilities, and elevate reporting excellence. A typical week blends strategic alignment, diagnostic problemsolving, and empowering Data Managers to lean into their strengths, collaborate effectively, and build a resilient, highperformance culture.

I. Job Summary
This Area level position is responsible for the daily management of the remote data specialist team. Additionally, the Data Manager is responsible for the quality and accuracy of all daily operational data within the Area. This job will require travel approximately 10% of the time. 
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
 

  • Establishing and maintaining oversight of a remote team of data specialists.
  • Works with critical partners of Operations Improvement Manager and Operations Analyst for data outputs.
  • Validation of daily data via critical reports.
  • Manages cross-functional communication with Operational Leaders to ensure Area level of Data oversight and management.
  • Boundary partner for all Operational initiatives.
  • Use appropriate Waste Management systems to ensure proper recording of metrics and verify process improvement opportunities, including: EMAP, MAS, OPUS, Kronos, SharePoint, PMT, CorpDb, Essbase, Newton, Power BI, Microsoft Suite, Capacity Planner, and all other systems as needed and necessary.
  • Performance management and continued skill development of the Data Specialist Team.

A. Required Qualifications 
 

  • Associate's Degree (accredited), or in lieu of degree,
  • High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and two (2) years of relevant work experience.
  • 3 years of relevant work experience (in addition to education requirement).
