Summary

The SAP Enterprise Architect is responsible for leading end-to-end SAP solution architecture across ERP, integration platforms, and enterprise applications. This role defines business and technical architecture strategies, drives SAP S/4HANA transformation, and ensures scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions aligned with enterprise goals.

Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

  • Lead SAP Enterprise Architecture design across SAP ECC / S/4HANA ERP, and integrated enterprise systems (PLM, MES, Data Warehouse)
  • Define and execute SAP architecture strategy, roadmap, and digital transformation initiatives
  • Drive SAP S/4HANA migration, implementation, and optimization programs
  • Develop and maintain enterprise architecture frameworks, standards, and governance (TOGAF or equivalent)
  • Lead solution architecture design, including system integration, data architecture, and application architecture
  • Conduct architecture reviews, gap analysis, and system performance assessments
  • Define integration architecture using APIs, middleware, and service-oriented architecture (SOA / microservices)
  • Lead full project lifecycle activities: scoping, estimation, solution design, implementation, and deployment
  • Manage SAP vendor relationships, licensing, contract negotiations, and AMS partners
  • Ensure compliance with security, data governance, and enterprise IT standards
  • Evaluate emerging SAP technologies (SAP BTP, Fiori, cloud platforms) and lead proof-of-concept initiatives
  • Partner with business stakeholders, IT leadership, and cross-functional teams to align architecture with business processes
  • Identify and mitigate risks across SAP systems, integrations, and infrastructure
  • Mentor and lead solution architects and technical teams
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies
  • Must be able converse fluently with Business stakeholders regarding Order to Cash (Order Management), Demand to Deliver (Operations and Manufacturing), Source to Pay (Supply Chain) and Record to Report (Finance) processes
  • Strong expertise in SAP modules:
    SAP MM (Materials Management)
    SAP PP (Production Planning)
    SAP SD (Sales and Distribution)
    SAP QM (Quality Management)
    SAP FICO (Finance and Controlling)
    SAP WM (Warehouse Management)
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills tailored for Business and IT senior leadership.  Ability to distill complex IT solutions into business-impact language.  Able to create business case and justify the benefit of a technology investment.  Proven ability to influence stakeholders with competing priorities toward a unified strategic direction.
  • Deep knowledge of SAP S/4HANA architecture, migration strategies, and system conversion
  • Knowledge of SAP Ariba, SAP PLM, and SAP MES
  • Strong expertise in data architecture, master data management (MDM), and data governance
Physical Demands
  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
Salary

The stated range includes Base Salary and target Short-Term Incentive (STI) compensation only. A comprehensive benefits package is offered in addition to this range.

Salary Range: 132K - 183K

Typical Experience
  • 10+ years of SAP experience, including SAP ERP, SAP ECC, and SAP S/4HANA implementations
  • Proven experience delivering large-scale SAP programs (5+ full lifecycle implementations; 2+ S/4HANA projects)
  • Experience with SAP Fiori/UI5 and front-end architecture
  • Experience leading Project Steering Committee Review and Investment Business Case Review 
  • Hands-on experience with SAP integrations (IDocs, APIs, middleware, SAP PI/PO, SAP CPI)
  • Experience integrating SAP with legacy systems and third-party applications
  • Experience with SAP upgrade, cutover planning, and global rollout strategies
  • Familiarity with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) and cloud-native/SaaS architectures
  • Experience with Agile, Scrum, and DevOps methodologies
  • Strong understanding of enterprise architecture domains: business, application, data, and technology architecture
