As a Senior Business Operations Coordinator supporting the Optum Behavioral Health psychologist team, you will provide timely, accurate administrative support for psychologist-led service review work. This role is responsible for entering service authorizations into proprietary electronic medical record and service management systems, sending letter assignment tasks, and communicating clinical determinations by phone to clinicians and outpatient practice locations. The position requires a detail-oriented, highly accountable individual who can work independently, learn new systems quickly, manage repetitive data-entry work with accuracy, and complete time-sensitive tasks with urgency.

Schedule: 40-hour work week Monday through Friday from 9am - 5pm CST.  The schedule will be determined upon hire.

Location: You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support psychologist reviewers by sending letter assignment tasks, documenting task completion, and ensuring administrative follow-through occurs within required turnaround time expectations
  • Enter service authorizations and related administrative information accurately into proprietary electronic medical record and service management systems. This work requires strong computer skills, attention to detail, documentation accuracy, typing proficiency, and the ability to learn new software and workflows quickly
  • Call out clinical determinations to clinicians or outpatient practice locations in a professional, clear, and confident manner while accurately documenting the communication in applicable systems
  • Prioritize daily work with a sense of urgency to support timely completion of psychologist administrative tasks, compliance expectations, and team workflow needs
  • Willingness to learn new systems and take on new tasks as requested by management is essential
  • Works independently
  • Knowledge of HIPAA requirements and confidentiality expectations in a healthcare environment

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Advanced computer proficiency experience (multi-task through multiple applications including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word)
  • 2 years of experience of data entry maintaining data accuracy
  • 1 years of experience in healthcare, managed care, behavioral health, or insurance environment
  • Available to work 40 hours per week remotely and within standard business hours
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to accomplish multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions
  • Confidence and professionalism when interfacing with clinicians, provider offices, internal team members, and other business partners.
  • Familiarity with behavioral health services, service authorization processes, clinical determinations, or office workflows
  • Typing proficiency and ability to navigate computer systems while speaking on the phone
  • Mathematical ability sufficient to support accurate authorization entry, unit calculations, date ranges, and related administrative tasks

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $18.00 to $32.00 per hour based on full-time employment.  We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
