PDMI is looking to add a Senior Data Engineer to our team! This position is responsible for designing, developing, optimizing, and supporting enterprise data integration, reporting, and analytics solutions. The Senior Data Engineer plays a key role in modernizing the organization's data ecosystem by transitioning legacy SQL Server and SSRS solutions to a scalable, cloud-based architecture centered on Amazon Redshift, AWS data services, and Tableau. This position develops scalable ETL pipelines, data warehouse solutions, governed data products, and secure data delivery capabilities that enable reliable enterprise reporting, analytics, and self-service access to trusted business information.

  • Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, data transformations, and data models across Amazon Redshift and Microsoft SQL Server environments.
  • Support the modernization of legacy SQL Server and SSRS reporting solutions by migrating data pipelines, reporting processes, and analytics capabilities to AWS-based architectures.
  • Design and maintain cloud-based data warehouse solutions using Amazon Redshift and related AWS services to support scalable, reliable, and high-performing data processing.
  • Develop governed data models, datasets, and data products that enable Tableau reporting, enterprise analytics, and self-service access to trusted business information.
  • Build and enhance scalable data extract, file delivery, and reporting solutions that reduce manual processes and improve the reliability and efficiency of enterprise data delivery.
  • Analyze and optimize ETL workflows, SQL queries, data models, and warehouse performance for large-scale datasets and complex reporting workloads.
  • Partner with business and technical stakeholders to gather requirements, understand reporting and data needs, and translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Implement and maintain appropriate data security, role-based access controls, and governance standards across enterprise data and analytics solutions.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve data pipeline, data quality, performance, and reporting issues while supporting critical legacy systems throughout modernization efforts.
  • Apply modern software development practices, including source control, code review, testing, CI/CD, documentation, and automation, to data engineering and analytics development.
  • Evaluate and leverage cloud-native services, automation, and AI-assisted development tools to improve development efficiency, monitoring, data operations, and analytics capabilities.
  • Collaborate with Data, Engineering, Product, and business teams to establish sustainable data solutions, reduce reliance on manual reporting and external development resources, and support the continued evolution of the enterprise data platform.

Work & Education Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Management, Information Systems, Computer Science, Analytics, or a related field required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in ETL development, data engineering, business intelligence, data warehousing, or a related discipline required.
  • Hands-on experience designing, developing, optimizing, and supporting enterprise data warehouse and ETL solutions, including Amazon Redshift, required.
  • Advanced SQL development expertise, including complex query development, data transformation, and performance optimization required.
  • Strong knowledge of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, enterprise reporting architectures, and large-scale data processing required.
  • Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into scalable data integration, reporting, and analytics solutions required.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including legacy data extraction and migration support, required.
  • Experience with SSRS reporting solutions and migrating legacy SQL Server/SSRS environments to modern cloud-based data platforms preferred.
  • Experience developing cloud-native data pipelines using AWS services such as Glue, S3, Lambda, Athena, ECS/EKS, or similar technologies preferred.
  • Experience developing Tableau dashboards, semantic data models, governed data products, and enterprise self-service analytics solutions preferred.
  • Experience implementing data governance, role-based security, Git, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software development practices preferred.
  • Experience within PBM, healthcare, pharmacy claims, 340B, rebate, or claims adjudication environments preferred.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools or developing AI-enabled automation, analytics, monitoring, or reporting solutions preferred.
