Position: Power BI Analyst

FocusPoint is recruiting an experienced Power BI Analyst for a confidential enterprise client. This role will design and deliver advanced Power BI reporting that supports operational decision making across a complex, data driven environment. The ideal candidate brings strong technical depth, mature analytical thinking, and comfort working with large operational data sets.What you will do
  • Build executive ready Power BI dashboards and reports that transform complex operational data into clear insights for leadership and operations teams.

  • Develop robust data models using best practice structures including star schema and well defined relationships.

  • Create advanced DAX measures and calculations that support KPI driven reporting across operations.

  • Work closely with business stakeholders and data engineering teams to define requirements, validate data, and ensure reporting aligns with operational processes.

  • Use SQL and Azure Databricks to collaborate effectively on data pipelines and data model development.

  • Connect to multiple data sources through Power Query Editor including SQL, Excel, and web based inputs.

  • Apply understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes to support reliable and scalable reporting.

  • Explore emerging BI and AI capabilities such as Copilot and automated insights to enhance reporting quality and user experience.

Required experience
  • Bachelor degree in Business, Analytics, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field. Equivalent experience considered.

  • At least five years of hands on Power BI development including data modeling, DAX, and dashboard design.

  • Experience working with large operational data sets and KPI driven reporting.

  • Familiarity with SQL Server scripting and Azure Databricks.

  • Experience using Power Query Editor to connect to multiple data sources.

  • Proven success working in cross functional environments with business teams and data engineering groups.

Preferred experience
  • Background supporting refining, energy, or manufacturing operations.

  • Working knowledge of operational KPIs including margins, throughput, yields, and performance metrics.

  • Basic Power BI administration knowledge.

  • Exposure to AI driven analytics or modern BI capabilities.
