Job description

The Opportunity:

Logan Simpson has an immediate opening for a TemporaryArchaeological Field Technician to work in Arizona, based out of ourFlagstaff office.


What We Offer:

This position is paid on an hourly basis between $22 - $26 hour, depending on experience and education. Logan Simpson provides benefits for temporary staff members including paid sick leave, 8 paid holidays, eligibility for a healthcare program through ACRA (American Cultural Resources Association), and for eligible temporary staff members, the firm offers a $150 field gear stipend.


Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Participating in archaeological excavation, monitoring, and pedestrian survey projects as a crew member, under the supervision of a field director or crew lead throughout Arizona and adjacent states.


What You'll Bring:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Anthropology or Archaeology and/or completion of an accredited field school. Applicants without a degree or field school experience will be considered.
  • Experience in the U.S. Southwest.
  • Experience conducting fieldwork in a cultural resource management setting. Ability to identify archaeological artifacts and features.
  • Ability to work outdoors in extreme temperatures and in remote locations (camping is a possibility).
  • Ability to walk up to 10 miles per day over steep terrain for extended periods of time.
  • Willingness to work overnight and on weekends.
  • A willingness to work out-of-town.
  • Proficiency with electronic devices such as smart phones and tablets for digital data collection.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
