Job description

Applied Technical Services, LLC ("ATS" or the "Company") is a leading provider of critical testing, inspection, certification, and compliance services. The Company serves clients across a diverse set of large and stable end markets including manufacturing, power generation, aerospace, medical, and defense. ATS was founded in 1967 and is headquartered in Marietta, GA. Today the Company employs nearly 2,100 team members in over 95 locations across the United States.

Summary: Remote Visual Inspection (RVI) is the use of video borescopes, push cameras, robotics, vessel cameras, and drones to perform a visual examination on customer assets to avoid disassembly, confined space entry, or scaffold building. When foreign material is detected in customer assets, retrieval tools are utilized to extract object(s). Indications, features, and all details of customer interest are documented through high resolution digital images and video. This data is compiled in a comprehensive report. RVI work is conducted in all industry segments including Nuclear Power Plants, Gas Turbine Plants, Coal Plants, Chemical Plants, Refineries, and Paper Mills. A specialist may be required to inspect turbines, reactor heads, tanks, pipes, or vessels.
Experienced RVI Technicians can be located throughout the United States. RVI Trainee positions primarily located out of the Greenville, SC and/or Charlotte, NC facilities.
Responsibilities/Duties:
  • Travel to customers sites in the US to perform RVI exams on a wide range of applications.
  • Set up RVI equipment and certify for inspection use.
  • Interpret drawings considering access, distance, hazards, and limitations of technology to successfully complete RVI work.
  • Perform on-the-job training and guidance to trainees.
  • Pre organize inspections and prepare written reports on the results of RVI exams.
  • Work independently or in small teams as required.

All applicants require the following:
  • Ability to learn and comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills written and verbal.
  • Highschool Diploma/GED Required
  • Driver's License
  • Applicants must pass a drug screen and have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Accordingly, the company will consider only "U.S. Persons" for this position. Work Conditions:
  • Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection.
  • Work from heights on scaffolding, ladders, elevated platforms, man-baskets, etc.
  • Work in confined spaces which will require crawling, stooping, climbing, etc.
  • Work in around operating equipment and industrial environments.
  • Work with radiation and hazardous materials such as cleaners, penetrants, film developing chemicals, etc.
  • Work shifts up to 12 hours/day and 7 days/week and travel for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift and carry 100 pounds.

Desired Non-Required Education/Experience/Skills:
  • Prior military
  • Engineering degree
  • Industrial and mechanical expertise
  • Prior government or commercial nuclear rad worker
  • A&P license
  • Prior work history in industrial environments
