What is a remote data collection driver?

Remote Data Collection Drivers are professionals who operate vehicles equipped with specialized sensors or devices to gather data for various purposes, such as mapping, traffic analysis, or infrastructure assessment. Unlike traditional drivers, their primary responsibility is to follow predetermined routes while ensuring accurate data collection, often working independently and reporting findings digitally. This role may include using GPS equipment, cameras, or other technology to record information, and it often allows for flexible or remote scheduling. Remote Data Collection Drivers are typically employed by companies involved in geographic information systems (GIS), urban planning, or autonomous vehicle development.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote data collection driver?

To thrive as a Remote Data Collection Driver, you need a valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and strong navigation skills, often supported by familiarity with GPS and mapping technologies. Proficiency with mobile data collection devices, onboard cameras, and reporting software is typically required. Attention to detail, reliability, and strong time management help ensure accurate data collection and adherence to schedules. These skills are crucial for safely and efficiently gathering high-quality geographic or survey data to support organizational needs.

What are some common challenges faced by remote data collection drivers, and how can they be addressed?

Remote Data Collection Drivers often encounter challenges such as navigating unfamiliar routes, dealing with varied weather conditions, and ensuring data accuracy while on the move. Staying organized and proactive helps ensure data is collected efficiently and safely, and most companies provide training and support to help drivers handle these challenges.

Job description

We are looking for a Business Data Associate who will support our data team, customer success and internal product development. The initial role will entail learning back-end data processes focused on data entry, data cleanliness, and locating new process improvement opportunities. You will also gain experience with the LevPro front-end system (Research Management, Trading Tools, Portfolio Management, Compliance) in a client-facing role. Here you will assist clients with navigating and configuring the software, answering product and implementation related questions, defining requirements and soliciting feedback. Down the road, we envision you growing into a multi-tool player, with a complete front and back-end understanding of the product, who would contribute to building and maintaining client relationships to increase business revenue potential.

LevPro, now part of Octus,ย  is a modern operating system for leveraged credit asset managers, founded to modernize a $1.5 trillion finance sector where highly skilled professionals still populate spreadsheets from unstructured emails, manually match names to identifiers, and work off text documents. We use artificial intelligence (and a little magic) to solve a number of data, nomenclature, and workflow problems that have plagued this industry, resulting in a massively improved user experience. Our single code base allows us to iterate at a rapid pace, which also results in industry-leading customer response times. Our platform has enjoyed strong adoption across the Alternative Asset industry, with many of our clients transitioning away from the legacy software they've been using for years. We're looking to bolster our talented team with the addition of key strategic hires to support growth.

Data responsibilities include:

  • Entering data, interpreting data and analyzing results
  • Developing and using data collection systems that optimize efficiency
  • Acquiring data from primary or secondary sources and maintaining databases

Customer Success responsibilities include:

  • Analyzing data to improve customer experience
  • Providing real-time customer support and feedback
  • Holding product demonstrations for new customers and developing user guides
  • Contributing to client onboarding and implementations to better understand client processes and build rapport with client stakeholders
  • Developing and monitoring project metrics

Requirements

  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Growth mindset, curiosity and eagerness to learn
  • Ability to push back on superiors
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate asynchronously with cross-functional teams
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience (Fixed Income / Leveraged Credit) preferred
  • Technical expertise in Excel and other data frameworks preferred, including using ChatGPT/others

What We Offer

  • Competitive pay and benefits
  • As much opportunity and responsibility as you can handle
  • A flexible, remote or in office work model
  • A highly collaborative and dynamic group environment
  • A stipend for learning (books, classes, etc.)
