Position Title: BIM Designer
Location: Remote - Must sit within EST or CST
Duration: 6-Month Contract, Potential to go full-time or extend.

Job Description:

Insight Global is seeking a BIM Designer for an EPC Firm supporting a large-scale data center project in the Midwest. This individual will leverage advanced Revit skills to develop and refine underground utility and duct bank models, elevating existing designs to LOD 400 standards. The ideal candidate will have a background in civil infrastructure, mechanical, electrical, or utility design and be comfortable coordinating with engineers, construction partners, and clients throughout the project lifecycle. This role offers flexibility with hybrid work arrangements, exposure to high-profile data center construction projects, and the opportunity to contribute to complex engineering deliverables while working alongside experienced design professionals.

Day-to-Day:

  • Support a large-scale data center project
  • Develop and elevate duct bank models to LOD 400
  • Model underground utility systems and duct bank routing between structures
  • Refine and enhance existing designs created by engineering teams
  • Coordinate design work across multiple project disciplines
  • Create engineering and construction drawings, layouts, schematics, assemblies, and details
  • Collaborate directly with construction partners and project stakeholders
  • Participate in client-facing meetings and design discussions
  • Manage assigned project tasks while adhering to scope, schedule, and budget
  • Communicate project updates, needs, and scope changes to senior designers and leadership

Must-Haves:

  • 3-4+ years of hands-on Revit experience
  • Strong Revit modeling skills including family creation/modification
  • Experience working with different Revit templates and presets
  • Civil infrastructure and/or underground utility design experience
  • Understanding of vertical and horizontal alignments, grading, and slopes
  • Drafting/design experience with industry standards, symbols, and drawing preparation
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
  • Experience coordinating with project teams and external stakeholders
  • General understanding of engineering/construction drawings and project execution practices

Plusses:
