Financial Systems & Accounting Expert

Role Type: Contractor

Role Overview

micro1 is engaging Financial Systems & Accounting Experts to support a customer project focused on accounting operations, financial reporting, and ERP systems. You'll apply your accounting judgment and financial systems expertise to evaluate and improve AI-generated outputs and training data.

Prior experience in AI training or human-data work is required. Simply using AI features within accounting software does not qualify.

Scope of Work
  • Evaluate AI-generated accounting outputs for accuracy, calculations, journal entries, and accounting treatments.
  • Review and annotate financial statements, reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close workpapers.
  • Identify accounting errors, misstatements, and inconsistencies and provide appropriate corrections with clear rationale.
  • Assess accounting workflows and financial systems logic across platforms such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, Xero, and Dynamics 365.
  • Apply written rubrics to evaluate, rank, and grade AI-generated responses.
  • Create realistic accounting scenarios, examples, and reference answers for AI training.
  • Provide clear, actionable feedback to improve model performance and accounting accuracy.
  • Support financial processes from transaction recording through month-end close and financial reporting.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in financial accounting, corporate accounting, audit, bookkeeping, financial reporting, management accounting, cost accounting, or FP&A with substantial accounting responsibilities.
  • Proven experience preparing or reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements.
  • Hands-on experience with NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, Xero, Sage Intacct, Dynamics 365, Workday, or comparable financial systems.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Familiarity with tools such as BlackLine, Bill.com, Ramp, Brex, Stripe, Avalara, Anaplan, Tableau, or Power BI is a plus.
  • Prior paid experience in AI training, data annotation, labeling, RLHF, AI response evaluation, model evaluation, or rubric-based grading is required.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills (B2 level or above).
  • Ability to work independently and meet project quality standards and deadlines.
  • Reliable internet connection and immediate availability.
