Candidates should be comfortable partnering with both technical and business stakeholders to ensure trusted, secure, and well-governed HR data across the organization. The Technical Data Steward (HR Data Analytics) is responsible for the governance, quality, security, metadata management, and technical oversight of HR data within an Azure-based data warehouse environment. This role acts as the technical authority for HR data assets, ensuring that data is properly defined, cataloged, secured, governed, and available for reporting, analytics, AI initiatives, and business decision-making. The position serves as a bridge between HR business teams, Data Governance, Data Engineering, Information Security, and Analytics teams. The Technical Data Steward is responsible for managing metadata, data lineage, data quality, data lifecycle processes, and access controls while supporting enterprise governance standards and HR reporting requirements. This role is a blend of Data Governance, Data Stewardship, Data Quality Management, Metadata & Lineage Management, Azure Data Warehousing, HR Data Analytics and Security & Compliance. The Technical Data Steward is responsible for the technical data management, governance, integrity and quality of Human Resources data assets for the HR Data Warehouse (Azure) and its platforms. This role ensures that data is properly defined, secured, governed, and usable across systems by partnering with HR business stewards, HR Data Analytics team, engineering teams, and stakeholders. Basic Description Provide technical data stewardship support to the HR Data Analytics team in managing, governing, and optimizing HR data assets. This role ensures data is accurate, secure, and aligned with enterprise data governance standards to support analytics, reporting, and strategic initiatives. Responsibilities 1. Data Governance & Standards • Implement and enforce enterprise data governance policies, standards, and procedures • Ensure execution of governance workstreams, including: o Metadata management o Enterprise quality controls o AI ready metadata o Data quality o Data lifecycle management o Policies and standards compliance • Monitor adherence to technical data standards and drive compliance across the business area 2. Data Management & Technical Oversight • Own technical data decisions on behalf of the Business Data Owner • Provide subject matter expertise on: o Source systems o Data stores and warehouses o ETL processes and pipelines o Business intelligence tools • Ensure proper implementation of data across systems and platforms 3. Metadata, Lineage & Cataloging • Build and maintain a data catalog, including metadata and business glossary • Ensure data definitions, rules, and standards are clearly documented and consistently applied • Capture and maintain data lineage (end-to-end technical flows) 4. Data Quality & Issue Resolution • Drive root cause analysis of data quality issues and coordinate resolution with Enterprise data and HR Analytics teams • Assist in design and implementation data quality audits, controls, and monitoring tools • Plan and lead data cleansing and remediation initiatives 5.
