Responsibilities

The IT Data Analyst I role is to collect, manipulate and analyze data to assist in better business decision-making. The analyst is also responsible for visualization tool administrative tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform routine data analysis using various techniques, e.g., statistical analysis, explanatory modeling and data mining.
  • Produce ad hoc data reports.
  • Present findings in easy-to-understand terms for IT both verbally and in written form.
  • Keeps team members, clients and manager adequately informed.
  • Responsible for using established tools to monitor data quality.
  • Tableau Server administrative tasks under the supervision of Lead Tableau Administrator.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required.

  • Responsible for managing competing demands, prioritizing work activity, and using time efficiently.
  • Possesse strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Possesse knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS, etc.).
  • Education or experience in handling large data sets (structured and unstructured).

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree from four-year college or university in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics
  • 2 or more years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 1-3 years' experience using SQL
  • Experience in the healthcare field a plus
  • 1 year Tableau admin experience
