Lead/Principal Data Analyst
Location: Remote
DaVita's Clinical Analytics & Reporting (CA&R) team is responsible for designing, developing, and executing analytical solutions for our clinical and operations executives in support of DaVita's clinical strategy. Our mission is to improve patient quality of life by transforming data into actionable information that guides strategic decisions and clinical innovation.
The Lead/Principal Data Analyst will provide advanced analytical and data support to clinical leadership, including the Pharmaceutical Operations team. This role drives the analytical lifecycle for clinical initiatives, including the design and evaluation of clinical protocols and pilots. They will not only conduct complex analyses but also provide critical data insights to inform the strategic direction of our clinical programs.

Responsibilities
  • Strategic Support: Execute and impact the direction of analytical strategy for clinical functional areas, resolving complex problems independently and contributing across business lanes.
  • Clinical Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as the primary analytical support for multiple clinical initiatives. Translate business questions into rigorous study designs using advanced epidemiologic and biostatistical methods.
  • Advanced Analytics: Utilize multiple computational languages (e.g., SQL, R) to obtain, manage, and analyze clinical data. Develop advanced statistical and epidemiologic models to answer increasingly complex clinical questions.
  • Stakeholder Management: Influence executive leaders by presenting complex findings in a simplified, actionable manner. Drive management processes to meaningful results by socializing findings across cross-functional teams.
  • Mentorship: Guide and advise analysts across the CA&R team, overseeing analysis plans, code reviews, and results to ensure technical excellence. This role may have the potential to supervise junior analysts on the team.
  • Continuous Innovation: Regularly review emerging methods and technologies in clinical analytics and data science to support the team's adoption of best demonstrated practices.

Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum 5+ years (Lead) or 7-10+ years (Principal) of relevant experience in clinical data analysis, biostatistics, epidemiology, or a related quantitative field. A significant track record of technical leadership is preferred, demonstrating the ability to independently drive project strategy and provide high-level mentorship to analytic teams.
  • Education: Master's degree in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Data Science, or a related field from an accredited university

Technical Skills
  • Expert-level experience with statistical and/or epidemiological methods, including study design, causal inference analysis, and epidemiologic modeling
  • Proficiency in at least one advanced data analysis platform or language (e.g., R, SAS, SPSS, etc.)
  • Demonstrated proficiency querying large datasets stored in relational databases using SQL (any dialect) or related data tools (e.g., Tableau Prep, SPSS, Alteryx)
  • Proven ability and willingness to independently master additional platforms or programming languages as required by clinical pilot needs
  • Experience with data visualization and reporting software (e.g., Tableau, IBM Cognos, Power BI, or similar)

The Salary Range for the role is $85,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year.
If a candidate is hired, they will be paid at least the minimum wage according to their geographical jurisdiction and the exemption status for the position.
New York Exempt: New York City and Long Island: $66,300.00/year, Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester counties: $66,300.00/year, Remainder of New York state: $62,353.20/year New York Non-exempt: New York City and Long Island: $17.00/hour, Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester counties: $17.00/hour, Remainder of New York state: $16.00/hour
Washington Exempt: $80,168.40/year Washington Non-exempt: Bellingham: $19.13/hour, Burien: $21.63/hour, Everette: $20.77/hour, Unincorporated King County: $20.82/hour, Renton: $21.57/hour, Seattle: $21.30/hour, Tukwila: $21.65/hour, Remainder of Washington state: $17.13/hour
