Job description

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Helps analyze investment performance data and communicate with senior management, field, and home office teams.
  • Assist in performance reporting projects to identify and fix reporting defects.
  • Prioritize performance reporting enhancements based on multiple sources of feedback.
  • Performs data quality checks and works to resolve errors in data with the vendor(s).
  • Produce and validate marketing materials used by the Field to define our Advisory models/strategies.
  • Loading data to Field analytical tools such as Morningstar and Ycharts to assist in quantitative analysis.
  • Summarizes analysis into user-friendly deliverables by translating technical, detailed data into business-appropriate communications and recommendations (including process change recommendations).
  • Reports analytical results and recommendations in written, verbal and presentation form.
  • Other responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, math, statistics, business or related field.
  • Understanding of investment accounts including Brokerage, Advisory, Direct-to-fund, etc.
  • Understanding of investment vehicles; stocks, bonds, ETFs, Mutual Funds, illiquid alternatives, etc.
  • Understanding business processes to include research and data analysis.
  • Understanding of various types of investment performance calculations (IRR, TWR) and various performance statistics.
  • Understand portfolio risk exposures and benchmark characteristics.
  • Knowledge of performance attribution methodologies.
  • Expertise in analytical tools such as MS Excel, Business Objects, and PowerBI.
  • Proven excellence in problem solving, research, quantitative analysis and analytical working techniques.
  • Strong aptitude and desire for learning new platforms, investment products/strategies, analytic and presentation tools, analytic and quantitative techniques.
  • Ability to generate new ideas and go beyond the status quo; recognize the need for new or modified approaches.
  • Demonstrated ability to gather information systematically; consider a broad range of issues or factors; grasp complexities and perceive relationships among problems or issues; use accurate logic in analysis.
  • Initiative to independently prioritize and develop individual deliverables while still being a team player.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results and recommendations in written, verbal, and presentation form at an appropriate level for a business audience.
  • Ability to work effectively with people at all levels.
