Senior Business Systems Engineer

Location: Remote, USA

About Syllo

Syllo is defining the Litigation AI category. We are the first unified platform designed to autonomously manage the entire litigation lifecycle end to end. Founded in 2019 by a team of litigators and engineers, Syllo enables legal teams to securely harness the power of AI across any matter, regardless of complexity or scale. Our technology supports Fortune 500 companies and AmLaw 200 firms in managing their most complex litigation portfolios. Awarded ILTA Transformative Project of the Year and ALM eDiscovery Technology of the Year for 2026, we are the market leader in enterprise grade litigation AI. Backed by top tier VCs, we empower enterprise legal departments to move faster, mitigate risk, and push the boundaries of what technology can achieve.

About the role

Connect and supercharge our tech stack to power seamless company operations.

This role focuses on bridging third-party software, internal systems, and data pipelines into a cohesive, high-performing ecosystem. Rather than reinventing the wheel with custom implementations, you will design robust API integrations, data extraction flows, and flexible user interfaces that make our entire tool stack work together as one.

Working across Python, FastAPI, and frontend environments, you will partner closely with our Senior Data Engineer to map external metrics cleanly into BigQuery data pipelines and keep internal systems seamlessly synchronized across Revenue Operations, Finance, and Customer Success.

We are looking for a collaborative engineer who excels at connecting systems, leverages modern AI tools to amplify their own output, and thrives in an evolving, fast-growing company environment.

What you will do
  • Build internal API bridges: Design, deploy, and maintain seamless API connections between vendor software platforms and Syllo's internal tool stack.
  • Partner with Data Engineering: Work hand-in-hand with our Senior Data Engineer to build efficient data extraction interfaces, piping metrics from third-party systems directly into BigQuery data warehouses.
  • Maintain resilient data pipelines: Build clean error handling, monitoring, and recovery mechanisms into integration pipelines to ensure data flow reliability.
  • Deliver intuitive operational dashboards: Build and maintain frontend dashboards and reporting surfaces that enable Finance, RevOps, and Customer Success to operate smoothly.
  • Evaluate integration strategies: Work with stakeholders to optimize existing software capabilities first, recommending custom integrations or builds only when they offer clear strategic leverage.
  • Leverage AI tools: Apply modern AI development tools to write code, build test suites, and produce documentation faster, sharing best practices with the broader team.
What you bring
  • Integration depth: Proven track record building and supporting production API integrations across various third-party SaaS tools and platforms.
  • BI and reporting: Practical experience connecting cloud data warehouses (like BigQuery) to business intelligence tools to build operational dashboards, supported by hands-on experience building light ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Data team partnership: Passion for collaborating closely with data engineers to model, clean, and land external application metrics into warehouse pipelines like BigQuery.
  • Python & FastAPI proficiency: Ability to write clean, scalable backend services and micro-integrations that operate reliably.
  • Frontend capabilities: Working knowledge of modern frontend frameworks (e.g., React) to craft clean, functional interfaces for internal dashboards.
  • Pragmatic solution design: Clear judgment on when to configure third-party software versus building custom code, prioritizing speed and maintainability.
  • AI-assisted execution: Habit of using AI tools to increase engineering leverage, refine code quality, and maintain clear documentation.
Experience and qualifications
  • 5+ years in business systems engineering, integration engineering, backend software development, or a closely aligned role within a B2B SaaS or enterprise environment.
  • Strong track record of building and maintaining production integrations between vendor applications and centralized internal data platforms.
  • Proficiency in Python and FastAPI, with practical experience building basic frontend interfaces in modern frameworks like React.
  • Experience building or supporting data pipelines into BigQuery or equivalent cloud data warehouses, ideally in collaboration with a data engineering team.
  • Prior experience integrating core business engines (CRM, billing systems, support platforms, or HRIS) is a strong advantage.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Total rewards and benefits

At Syllo, we believe in taking care of our team so they can focus on building the future of legal tech.

  • Compensation: Competitive base salary + equity options. Range: $160k to $200k
  • Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, and voluntary insurance options. Vacation, sick leave, and paid holidays. Access to benefit counselors and fitness class reimbursements.
  • Growth: Annual learning and development budget and real career growth in a fast-scaling organization.
