Job Description

  • Independently manage a sophisticated and substantial caseload of mortgage foreclosure, collections, and creditors' rights matters
  • Take ownership of matters from initial assessment through resolution, applying senior-level legal judgment and strategic thinking
  • Analyze complex legal, procedural, title, and servicing issues and develop practical strategies for resolution
  • Draft, review, and oversee pleadings, motions, briefs, correspondence, settlement communications, and other legal documents
  • Handle contested foreclosure and collections matters and represent institutional clients in proceedings as appropriate
  • Advise clients on case strategy, legal risks, procedural requirements, and potential resolutions
  • Serve as a trusted legal resource for lenders, servicers, investors, and other institutional clients
  • Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and operational teams while providing experienced guidance on challenging matters
  • Monitor deadlines, case progression, and overall portfolio performance within a high-volume practice
  • Communicate directly and confidently with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and internal stakeholders
  • Identify potential issues early and drive matters toward efficient, defensible resolutions
  • Apply extensive creditors' rights and mortgage default experience to help maintain high-quality, client-focused legal work

Qualifications

  • Active California Bar license in good standing
  • 8+ years of directly relevant attorney experience in mortgage foreclosure and collections
  • Extensive experience with creditors' rights, mortgage default servicing, foreclosure, collections, and related litigation
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex matters and a substantial caseload
  • Experience representing lenders, mortgage servicers, financial institutions, investors, or other institutional creditors
  • Strong legal analysis, writing, negotiation, and client-management skills
  • Demonstrated sound judgment and ability to make strategic decisions independently
  • Comfortable operating in a high-volume, deadline-driven legal environment
  • Additional state bar licenses and multi-state creditors' rights experience strongly preferred
