Job description

The Mortgage Underwriting & Appraisals area is responsible for evaluating mortgage applications and property valuations to ensure sound credit decisions, accurate risk assessment, and compliance with all regulatory and investor requirements. Activities may include:
  • Analyzing borrower credit profiles, income, assets, and collateral
  • Reviewing appraisal reports for accuracy and adherence to standards
  • Determining the overall creditworthiness and risk level of mortgage requests
  • Applying underwriting guidelines
  • Identifying and mitigating potential risks
  • Ensuring the integrity and consistency of valuation processes
  • DE / SAR / VHDA Delegations

The Mortgage Underwriting function is responsible for conducting a detailed credit analysis based on information furnished by the borrower, publicly available information, the lender's evaluation of the borrower's credit needs, and the ability to pay across a range of products against credit standards set by the organization. Mortgage Banking covers activities related to the origination and servicing of residential mortgage loans, including sales, underwriting, loan operations, secondary marketing, investor relations, and default. Other duties as assigned.

Compensation offered will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to education, work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location, etc.
