We are looking for a Field Service & Deployment Engineer to join ourFieldOperations team within our Operations organization. Your job will be to deploy,maintain, troubleshoot, and supportour automated forkliftsystems at customer sites. This role is highly hands-on and critical to ensuring our autonomous robotic solutions are installed successfully,operatingreliably, and delivering value to customers from day one.

What we do

TheFieldOperations team is part of ourOperationsorganization, whichis responsible fordeploying, supporting, andoptimizingSymbotic'snewlyacquiredforkliftrobotics solutions(formerly Fox Robotics)in real-world customer environments. This team works directly with customers to install new systems,maintainuptime, resolve technical issues, and ensure successful long-term performance. Customer Operations also serves as a key bridge between the field and internal Engineering, Product, and Support teams by sharing insights that improve product reliability, deployment processes, and customer experience.

Whatyou'lldo

  • Lead and support on-site deployments of autonomous robotic systems, including installation, calibration, commissioning, and startup activities.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and software issues in real time to minimize downtime and restore system performance.

  • Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and system health checks to ensure reliable operation.

  • Support remote diagnostics and respond to escalations in partnership with Engineering and Technical Support teams.

  • Train customer operators and site personnel on system operation, safety procedures, and best practices.

  • Document all field serviceactivityincluding repairs, troubleshooting steps, photos, and site conditions for internal tracking and continuous improvement.

  • Travelfrequentlyto customer sites (up to 100%) and work independently in dynamicwarehouseand industrial environments.

Whatyou'llneed

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, or related technical field, or equivalent hands-on experience.

  • Minimum of 2years of experience in field service, robotics, automation, industrial equipment, or a similar technical role.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and basic software systems.

  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.

  • Experience using hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and technical documentation.

  • Strong communicationskills with the ability to work directly with customers and cross-functional internal teams.

  • Willingness and ability to travelfrequently, valid driver's license, and ability to lift or work around industrial equipment as needed.

Our Environment

  • Remote, field-based position.

  • Travel isrequiredup to100%of the time.Employeemust have a valid driver's license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.

  • Employees maybe requiredto use a personal credit card for business travel expenses, which are reimbursed based on the program guidelines. Eligible employees may receive a corporate credit card based on role and travel requirements, but a personal credit card may be needed during onboarding until the corporate card is issued.

  • The employee isfrequentlyrequired to walk and reach with hands and arms.

  • The employeeis routinely required towork at heights of up to 45 feet and within restrictive areas of 24 inches. to stand; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

  • Mustcomply withall safety requirements and protocols, including without limitation Lock out tag out safety protocols and fall protection safety protocols.

  • Approximately 75% of time will be spent on a construction site with PPErequired(hard hat, safety vest, steel toes, eyeglasses, ear protection, fall protection (e.g., safety harness).

  • There will be steep stairs to climb into the structure. You maybe requiredto routinely walk up and down stairs to navigate the automation structure.

  • You will regularly be near railings that are high off the ground.

  • Subject to environmental conditions, protection from weather conditions but not necessarilytemperaturechanges. Must be capable of working in temperatures ranging from 105 to 32 Fahrenheit.

The base range for this position in the posted location is $71,000.00 - $97,900.00 however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes medical, dental, vision, disability, 401K, PTO and/or other benefits.
