Job description

Reason One is hiring a Senior Fullstack Developer to build innovative products for clients like Emory Healthcare, Children's Nebraska, and Beacon Health.

As a Senior Fullstack Developer, you'll lead the technical delivery of enterprise CMS solutions for U.S. healthcare organizations - integrating code and design with CMS functionality on hybrid platforms (Sitecore, Optimizely, Kontent.ai) and on fully composable stacks that pair a specialist platform to each need: Storyblok for CMS, Coveo for search, VWO for personalization, Jotform for HIPAA-compliant forms. Experience with the clinical and operational platforms common in healthcare digital is a plus: EHRs (Epic, Cerner), patient portals (MyChart), and provider management tools (Kyruus Health, DexCare).

Healthcare is complex, deeply human work. You'll join a growing B Corp on a mission to improve digital access and equity in healthcare, building products that deliver real results for health systems, patients, and their communities.

Your role

This position is titled "Senior" for a reason - we'll expect you to troubleshoot and resolve issues independently, but also know when to ask for help if needed. Our ideal candidate is comfortable communicating with clients in writing and face-to-face (or video), and shows a keen awareness of timeline and budget.

Your Mission

Design and deliver comprehensive, high-quality solutions that seamlessly integrate front-end and back-end technologies.

  • Develop (in collaboration with other team members) creative, functional, maintainable, and performance-driven web applications, websites and components.
  • Document application architecture, development workflows, and internal processes that enable knowledge transfer to teammates.
  • Take part in code reviews - peer review pull requests and provide actionable feedback.
  • Project-based work and contributing to our internal library of reusable components.
  • Provide estimates on work efforts.
  • Provide senior-level support to developers on your team through mentoring and helping them debug issues
  • Ensure strong team collaboration. Lead by example. Drive team communication.
  • Ability to demonstrate Reason One's core values day to day
  • Participation in our B Corp mandate to improve our social and environmental impact

  • 3+ years professional experience working with an enterprise headless CMS such as Optimizely, Sitecore AI, Storyblok, or Kontent.ai.
  • 3+ years professional experience developing and consuming APIs (GraphQL, REST)
  • Professional experience integrating clinical and operational healthcare platforms, including EHR systems (Epic, Cerner), patient portals (MyChart), and provider management tools (Kyruus Health, DexCare, Sparkle).
  • Experience with serverless functions / edge workers (Vercel, Cloudflare Workers, Azure Functions, AWS Lambda)
  • Able to setup and own DevOps for projects you are leading using GitHub Actions with deployments to targets on platforms such as Vercel or Netlify
  • Strong debugging skills combined with experience using performance and load testing tools.
  • Practical experience using AI assistants such as Claude in day-to-day work, with sound judgement about task suitability, verifying outputs, and handling confidential information appropriately.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain the technical aspects of a project to non-technical people
  • Ability to handle multiple competing projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to contribute to the whole process from concept and research to implementation and ongoing maintenance.
