The primary responsibility of remote copywriters is to develop content that promotes a product or service or provides information to the targeted audience. We are seeking a detail-oriented Copywriter to support a high-volume communications team within the financial services industry. This is an execution-focused role responsible for developing and updating clear, accurate customer-facing communications across a variety of ongoing initiatives, including regulatory and compliance-driven updates.

The ideal candidate is a strong writer who can take an established brief or assignment and turn it into an effective, polished deliverable. This person should also bring strategic thinking to their writing by considering the audience, purpose, desired outcome, and communication best practices behind each piece.

While deep subject matter expertise across every financial product is not expected, this individual should be naturally curious and willing to research unfamiliar topics to ensure their writing is accurate and appropriately framed.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, edit, and update customer-facing communications based on established briefs, requirements, and templates
  • Support ongoing regulatory and compliance-related communication updates
  • Manage a steady pipeline of writing assignments from initial draft through final delivery
  • Understand the target audience, purpose, and desired outcome of each communication before developing content
  • Apply writing and communications best practices to create clear, direct, and effective messaging
  • Research unfamiliar financial products, terminology, and subject matter to ensure content accuracy
  • Review and QA content for accuracy, consistency, grammar, terminology, and alignment with the original brief
  • Partner with legal, compliance, and internal stakeholders throughout the review and revision process
  • Incorporate stakeholder feedback while maintaining clarity and consistency across communications
  • Use approved AI tools to assist with drafting, rewriting, summarization, research, and other writing workflows
  • Provide AI tools with appropriate context, audience, objectives, tone, and constraints, and critically review outputs for accuracy and quality
  • Manage multiple concurrent deliverables while meeting deadlines and maintaining strong attention to detail

Qualifications

  • 5 years of professional copywriting, content writing, or communications experience
  • Experience within financial services or another highly regulated industry
  • Experience collaborating with legal and/or compliance teams
  • Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and communication skills
  • Ability to translate complex or regulated information into clear, audience-appropriate communications
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to consider audience, objective, context, and desired outcome when developing content
  • Strong research skills and intellectual curiosity when working with unfamiliar subject matter
  • Sound editorial judgment and the ability to independently assess whether a deliverable meets the intended brief
  • Comfortable asking thoughtful questions and seeking clarification when information is unclear
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to receive and incorporate feedback
  • Self-directed, organized, and comfortable working through multiple deliverables in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience using AI-assisted writing tools and developing effective prompts/inputs to support content development
