We are seeking a detail oriented and analytical Staff Accountant to join our finance team. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who is comfortable working independently in a remote environment, takes ownership of deadlines and reconciliations, and is committed to maintaining accurate financial records and strong internal controls.

Position Overview

The Staff Accountant will support day to day accounting operations, month end and year end close activities, account reconciliations, financial reporting, accounts payable and receivable, and general ledger maintenance. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with Finance, Operations, Payroll, and other internal stakeholders to ensure financial information is accurate, timely, and properly documented.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and supporting documentation.
  • Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, reclassifications, and other accounting transactions.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet and bank account reconciliations and investigate variances.
  • Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, collections, and cash application activities as needed.
  • Prepare recurring financial reports, schedules, and account analyses for management review.
  • Assist with payroll related accounting, expense reporting, and other finance operations.
  • Maintain organized audit support and documentation for internal and external reporting requirements.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and special accounting projects.
  • Follow established accounting policies, internal controls, and applicable accounting standards.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams while maintaining confidentiality of financial and employee information.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.
  • Strong Excel skills, including formulas, sorting/ filtering, and data analysis.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet recurring deadlines in a remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in staffing, professional services, technology, or a multi entity environment.
  • Experience with accounting or ERP systems such as NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, QuickBooks, or similar platforms.
  • Experience supporting month end close and audit processes.
  • Familiarity with payroll, billing, or workforce related accounting.
  • CPA, CPA candidate, or additional accounting coursework is a plus.
