Overview

Our healthcare industry client is seeking a Senior IT Security Engineer to join their growing cybersecurity team. This individual will play a key role in supporting enterprise security initiatives, with a strong focus on firewall management, network segmentation, and merger/integration activities across a complex environment.

This is an opportunity to work within one of the nation's largest healthcare organizations, helping drive critical security projects while supporting an expanding infrastructure. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise with Palo Alto firewalls and have experience making strategic security recommendations during organizational transitions and integrations.

Project & Business Impact

The organization is currently experiencing increased demand due to multiple merger and integration initiatives, creating a need for additional cybersecurity expertise. This engineer will help support enterprise network security efforts, improve firewall governance, and contribute to the successful integration of acquired environments.

Key initiatives include:

  • Supporting merger and acquisition integration projects

Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain enterprise firewall environments
  • Create, modify, and optimize firewall rules and security policies
  • Troubleshoot firewall-related incidents and connectivity issues
  • Analyze and strengthen network and data center security controls
  • Participate in risk assessments, security audits, and remediation efforts
  • Support enterprise segmentation and infrastructure security initiatives
  • Collaborate with technical teams during merger and integration activities
  • Provide security recommendations and best practices for evolving environments
  • Assist with vulnerability management and threat mitigation efforts
Required Qualifications
  • Extensive experience administering Palo Alto firewalls
  • Strong background in firewall rule management and policy administration
  • Experience troubleshooting complex firewall and network security issues
  • Proven ability to lead or support merger, acquisition, or integration-related security projects
  • Experience working within enterprise cybersecurity environments
  • Knowledge of network security architecture, segmentation, and security controls
  • Strong communication skills and ability to provide technical recommendations to stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Check Point firewall technologies
  • Experience with FortiGate firewalls
  • Data center segmentation experience
  • Healthcare industry experience
  • Exposure to IPS/IDS, vulnerability management, web filtering, email security, and data protection solutions

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $75.00/hr.
