Job description
As a key contributor in a newly established position, this faculty member will play a central role in the development, launch, and delivery of a new Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Construction Management and the Built Environment. This interdisciplinary program is a collaborative effort among the College of Art & Architecture, the College of Engineering, and the College of Business & Economics.
The faculty member will support recruitment efforts for the new major and actively advise prospective and current students interested in the Construction Management and the Built Environment, major demonstrating a strong commitment to student success and program growth. Active involvement in outreach and extension activities to foster connections with professional organizations and the business community is expected.
Rank will be determined based on how the candidate meets criteria articulated in the unit and college bylaws. This position's academic home will be the Department of Business.
- An earned Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a closely related field.
- Experience developing and/or teaching courses in the area of construction management and the built environment.
- Relevant professional experience in the United States construction industry or comparable international experience.
- Professional registration, licensing or the ability to become licensed, or certifications related to the construction discipline.
- An earned Doctorate in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated ability to work successfully with collaborating internal and external personnel and entities ensure a successful launch of the major.
