What is remote content marketing?

Remote content marketing refers to the creation, distribution, and management of digital content—such as blog posts, articles, social media updates, and videos—to promote a brand or product, all performed by professionals working from locations outside a traditional office. These marketers use digital tools to collaborate with teams, create engaging content, and analyze performance metrics from anywhere with internet access. This flexibility allows companies to tap into a global talent pool and enables marketers to work from home or other remote locations.

What is a remote content marketing job?

Remote content marketing jobs include being a content manager, an SEO specialist, a social media manager, a copywriter, a PR specialist, or a content creator. Your specific duties may be more managerial in nature, designing strategies for your clients or supervising a group of content creators or copywriters, or you may be more involved with the actual content or product creation. If you work in graphic design, you create the visual or typographic features for print marketing material, digital material, or the look of a website. Since this is a work from home position, your job may have extra communication duties.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote content marketing professional, and why are they important?

To excel in Remote Content Marketing, you need strong writing, editing, and digital marketing skills, usually supported by a background in communications, marketing, or a related field. Familiarity with content management systems (like WordPress), SEO tools (such as SEMrush or Ahrefs), and analytics platforms (like Google Analytics) is essential. Creativity, self-motivation, and excellent time management are standout soft skills for this remote role. These capabilities are crucial for producing engaging content, driving online visibility, and ensuring consistent results while working independently.

How does a remote content marketing professional typically collaborate with team members and stakeholders?

Remote content marketers frequently use digital collaboration tools such as Slack, Trello, and Google Workspace to communicate with team members, brainstorm ideas, and track project progress. Regular video meetings and check-ins are common to align on content strategy, gather feedback, and coordinate with designers, SEO specialists, and product managers. Strong written communication and proactive updates are essential for ensuring everyone stays informed and projects move forward smoothly, despite the physical distance.

Job description

OUR VISIONEqus is a company building privacy-first AI, identity, and trust infrastructure for the agentic era. The digital world was built around platforms, not people. AI is rewriting what software can do, and we have a narrow window to make sure that future puts the individual at the center rather than further behind. We start from one conviction: your digital identity should belong to you, travel with you, and give you real agency in how you show up online. You set the rules, you hold the keys, and you benefit from your own data.
We are building toward that future across every layer it requires: the infrastructure that makes it possible, the standards that make it interoperable, and the experiences that bring it to life for the people who use it. We are early, and we are clear about what is built today and what is still ahead. The people who use what we build keep control of their own data, and we hold ourselves to that standard in everything we make.WHAT YOU WILL DOWe’re building toward launch, and we need a versatile marketer who can do the work, not just plan it. This is a hands-on role and a true second set of hands for our VP, Brand & Marketing. You’ll touch every channel that gets us in front of customers: events, content, social, and paid. You’re comfortable moving between strategy and execution, you’re happy owning a campaign end-to-end, and you’re looking for a role where you can grow as the function grows. Your day-to-day includes, but is not limited to:
  • Being the hands-on engine of our marketing day to day, moving between planning, execution, and measurement, and jumping in wherever the launch needs you most
  • Running campaigns across all of our launch channels, from events and field (conferences, meetups, sponsorships) to content and optimization (blog, SEO, thought leadership) to organic social and community (LinkedIn, X, Discord, Reddit) to paid and performance (paid search, paid social, retargeting), and knowing how to prioritize based on where our customers actually are
  • Supporting our event strategy end-to-end, helping plan, promote, and execute the events we’re lining up, from pre-event buildup to on-the-day logistics to follow-up
  • Playing a lead role in our content strategy and its execution, helping shape what we say and where, then creating the packaged, post able content that delivers it, from the plan through to finished posts, articles, and assets
  • Owning day-to-day social and community, planning the calendar, writing the posts, engaging with the audience in a timely way, and keeping our presence consistent and active
  • Planning and managing paid campaigns (paid search and paid social), tracking performance, and turning spend into measurable acquisition
  • Owning messaging, copy, and search performance on the website, across both traditional SEO and the AI-driven discovery that is becoming just as important (answer engines and generative search), keeping content and search performance right and supporting updates, new landing pages, and A/B testing without building the site yourself
  • Measuring what’s working, reporting on it clearly, and using the numbers to decide where to put effort next
  • Supporting internal marketing and enablement, giving our own teams the messaging and materials they need to represent the brand consistently
  • Working alongside agencies and outside partners, mostly at the execution level, and helping those relationships develop as we scale
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEEDYou bring a generalist’s range with a doer’s instinct, and you can write, launch, analyze, and adjust without a lot of hand-holding. You have strong writing and a good eye for brand voice and consistency. You are comfortable with ambiguity and have a bias toward shipping. There is a lot to do and it moves fast, and you’re the kind of person who thrives on that. You are self-directed in a remote setting, managing your own time and keeping work moving.YOUR EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEThis role calls for several years of hands-on marketing experience across multiple channels. You’ve personally run content, social, paid, and event support, not just directed agencies or a team to do it. You have experience marketing to more than one audience, whether consumers, businesses, or developers, and we want that rounded range, ideally with some international or multi-region exposure. You bring working knowledge of SEO, AI-driven discovery, and the analytics tools to back up your decisions. Experience marketing a product through launch, familiarity with community-driven channels, and marketing automation and email platform experience are all a plus.
This position is Remote | Telecommute and must be US Based and possess current authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
