They ensure the content is clear, accurate, and engaging, and that it aligns with a brand's style and guidelines. Their responsibilities often include proofreading, fact-checking, editing for SEO, and collaborating with writers and other team members online. Working remotely allows them to manage their schedules flexibly and work with clients or companies worldwide.

What does a remote content editor do?

As a remote content editor, you work from home to develop, design, and implement content for a company. Your duties are to create, draft, proofread, and edit material before it goes for publication on a website. If the content is suitable, you can copy it and adjust it for different platforms. You also gather user feedback, analyze responses, and work to enhance what the organization produces. Your responsibilities require you to collaborate with graphic design and marketing departments. A remote content editor can either work for one company and manage things from home or be freelance and take on the jobs they want.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote content editor, and why are they important?

To excel as a Remote Content Editor, you need strong writing, grammar, and editing skills, often supported by a degree in English, journalism, or a related field. Familiarity with content management systems (CMS), editing tools like Grammarly or Hemingway, and SEO best practices is typically required. Attention to detail, time management, and effective communication are key soft skills that distinguish top editors in remote environments. These skills ensure high-quality, consistent content delivery and smooth collaboration across distributed teams.

What are some common challenges faced by remote content editors and how can they be addressed?

Reports To: VP of Marketing

Position Overview

Operating within a small, high-impact team, this individual contributor role balances strategy and cross-functional leadership with hands-on execution. The Senior Product Marketing Manager defines product marketing strategy and standards while directly delivering the programs, materials, and insights that drive adoption, pipeline and expansion. This role serves as a trusted partner to Product, UX, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success leadership and as a strategic voice in cross-functional planning and decision-making.

What Success Looks Like

  • Sales teams are confident, prepared, and aligned on product value and differentiation
  • Product messaging is clear, consistent, and compelling across all channels
  • Customer stories and proof are actively used in sales and marketing motions
  • Go-to-market launches are well-coordinated, timely, and effective
  • Product marketing is seen as a strategic partner across the organization

Core Responsibilities

Go-to-Market Strategy & Execution

  • Define and drive cross-functional go-to-market strategy across products and use cases, ensuring launches are well-orchestrated internally and deliver measurable adoption, engagement, and growth
  • Lead product launches and major releases from strategy through execution, owning prioritization, timelines, messaging, and enablement
  • Ensure launch plans, toolkits, and assets are complete, aligned, and delivered with high quality and consistency, anchored in customer value with an outside-in, market-first perspective.

Product Positioning & Messaging

  • Define and evolve product positioning, messaging architectures, and value propositions aligned to market needs, competitive dynamics, and business objectives
  • Translate product capabilities into compelling, differentiated narratives across personas, segments, and stages of the customer lifecycle
  • Act as a strategic partner to Product and Sales gathering and sharing market insights to inform product approaches and sales positioning.

Sales Enablement

  • Develop enablement strategies and high-impact sales tools, training, and messaging frameworks
  • Ensure sales teams are consistently equipped to articulate value, differentiate effectively, and handle objections with confidence
  • Use field feedback and performance data to continuously refine enablement programs and improve sales productivity

Customer Insight & Storytelling

  • Provide strategic input and leadership on insight initiatives which may include persona development, win/loss analysis and qualitative research.
  • Translate insights into actionable improvements across messaging, go-to-market strategy, and enablement
  • Develop scalable customer proofcase studies, stories, and value narrativesthat reinforce differentiation and outcomes. Ensure value story is pushed through multiple channels including digital, social, events, etc.

Market & Performance Intelligence

  • Own competitive intelligence strategy, including ongoing monitoring, analysis, and battlecard development
  • Track key product marketing success metrics, using insights to inform prioritization and strategic decisions
  • Continuously assess go-to-market effectiveness and identify opportunities to increase impact and efficiency

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Act as a unifying force across Product, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success, driving alignment on priorities and execution
  • Serve as a key voice in cross-department planning and contribute to the foundation of overall marketing and go-to-market strategy

Who You Are

  • Scrappy, creative and resourceful. You find ways to make things happen based on what the business needs, not what has been documented or done before.
  • Three steps ahead. You anticipate what Sales needs for successful selling, before they ask for it.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced startup environment where things move in days, not weeks
  • AI-first, using technology to accelerate output without sacrificing quality, voice or originality
  • Bias toward action, you'd rather ship, learn and iterate high-quality output than wait for perfect.

Experience Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in product marketing supporting B2B selling to executive buyers in healthcare, insurance or other highly regulated industry.
  • Strong storytelling and content creation skills, including writing, editing, and bringing to life complex ideas in a value-based story
  • Data-driven mindset, comfortable using metrics and analytics to measure go-to-market impact and guide decisions
  • Demonstrated influence on product roadmap, pricing and packaging, or market segmentation
  • Proven ownership of go-to-market strategy across a product portfolio, beyond launch execution alone
  • Experience building or strengthening product marketing programs, processes, or the function itself in a small or scaling team
  • A track record of operating as both a strategic thinker and a hands-on contributor, influencing cross-functional teams
