Assistant Project Manager Residential Solar

Vikta Energy is an Authorized Tesla Energy Partner specializing in residential and commercial solar, Tesla Superchargers (DC Fast Charging), and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). As we continue to grow, we're looking for an organized, motivated Assistant Project Manager to support our Residential Solar team.

Whether you have experience in residential solar, construction coordination, scheduling, permitting, or project administration, we'll provide the opportunity to grow into a full Project Manager role.

Location

This is a remote position for candidates located within a reasonable driving distance of our Austin, TX office. While you'll primarily work remotely, you'll be expected to attend occasional in-person meetings and planning sessions at our Austin office. Limited travel may be required for training or occasional project support.

What You'll Do

Working alongside our Project Managers, you'll help coordinate residential solar projects from contract handoff through final permission to operate (PTO).

Project Coordination
  • Assist with project setup and scheduling after contract execution
  • Coordinate customer communications throughout the installation process
  • Support permitting, HOA approvals, utility interconnection, and inspection scheduling
  • Track project milestones and maintain accurate project documentation
  • Generate purchase orders and assist with material coordination
  • Schedule installation crews and coordinate project logistics
  • Help manage project timelines to ensure installations stay on schedule
Construction Support
  • Communicate regularly with homeowners regarding project status
  • Coordinate with field crews to resolve scheduling or material issues
  • Assist with change orders and project updates
  • Track inspections, utility approvals, and project completion milestones
  • Support Project Managers with issue resolution throughout construction
Project Closeout
  • Coordinate final inspections and utility approvals
  • Assist with permission-to-operate (PTO) documentation
  • Prepare homeowner closeout packages and warranty documentation
  • Ensure all project documentation is complete before closeout
Team Support
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Operations, Procurement, Accounting, and Sales
  • Help improve internal processes and project tracking
  • Support additional administrative and coordination tasks as needed
What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications
  • 13 years of experience in one or more of the following:
    • Residential Solar
    • Construction Coordination
    • Project Coordination
    • Construction Administration
    • Customer Success or Operations within Construction
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work remotely
Preferred Qualifications
  • Residential solar installation or operations experience
  • Experience with permitting or utility interconnection
  • Experience supporting project managers or construction teams
  • Familiarity with CRM or project management software
