As a Senior CAD Technician for Fieldstone A&E, youll be working alongside our dedicated team of client managers, architects, engineers and designers. Youll be producing high quality construction documentation using various CAD software on this team. Synopsis

The Senior CAD Technician partners with Project Managers, Architects, Engineers, and Designers to produce high-quality construction documentation for residential and commercial projects. This role is responsible for delivering accurate, timely drawings aligned with project schedules and Fieldstone standards. In addition to production work, the Senior CAD Technician supports and mentors team members, sharing technical knowledge and best practices related to CAD software, construction assemblies, and documentation standards. This role thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and demonstrates strong time management, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering a high level of service to both internal and external clients.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare complex architectural and engineering construction drawings for residential and commercial projects
  • Produce both Lot Specific and Master plans
  • Develop and draft detailed plans and construction details
  • Support proposal preparation and assist with client and internal communications
  • Perform fieldwork, documentation, research, and drafting tasks as needed
  • Communicate effectively with contractors, clients, and internal teams to support project needs
  • Apply Fieldstones Quality Control procedures and take ownership of deliverables
  • Maintain organized project files, including submittals, RFIs, and documentation (electronic and hard copy as needed)
  • Ensure compliance with Fieldstone and client-specific standards (CAD, file management, etc.)
  • Participate in team meetings to support coordination, scheduling, and technical alignment
  • Accurately track time and expenses using Fieldstone systems
  • Contribute to a culture of strong internal and external client service

Required Skills

  • Advanced knowledge of residential and/or commercial construction techniques and documentation
  • Strong understanding of CAD/BIM concepts; proficiency in AutoCAD required
  • General knowledge of applicable building codes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines consistently
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance

Required Experience

  • Associates degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in 2D and 3D drafting using AutoCAD Architecture
