Job Title: IAM Automation Engineer

Location: Remote in Arizona, occasional in-person meetings will occur

Job Type: Full Time

Compensation: $90,000 - $110,000 (dependent on experience)

Identity & Access Management (IAM) Automation Engineer

In this role, you will design and implement automation solutions that strengthen and streamline identity and access management operations. You will help ensure secure, efficient access to systems and data by developing scalable workflows, improving provisioning processes, and supporting modern IAM technologies across enterprise environments.

This position is ideal for someone with strong scripting capabilities, a solid technical foundation in identity systems, and a proactive mindset for optimizing security and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement automation scripts and workflows to reduce manual IAM tasks
  • Manage user onboarding, offboarding, and access provisioning in a secure and timely manner
  • Support identity and access controls across on-premises and cloud-based directory services
  • Evaluate IAM processes and recommend improvements for automation and efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with applicable security and regulatory frameworks
  • Assist with implementation and integration of IAM tools and platforms
  • Troubleshoot IAM issues, monitor automated processes, and perform system maintenance
  • Contribute to IAM policies, standards, and long-term roadmap planning
  • Document solutions, workflows, and technical specifications
  • Monitor risks, performance metrics, and compliance posture; provide reporting to stakeholders
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align IAM solutions with business needs

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

Core Technical Expertise

  • Scripting and automation, including PowerShell
  • Object-oriented programming concepts
  • Identity lifecycle management
  • Directory services such as Active Directory and cloud identity platforms
  • IAM tools and integrations with enterprise systems
  • Multi-factor authentication (MFA), single sign-on (SSO), and audit processes

Preferred Knowledge

  • Security and risk management practices in regulated environments

Certifications (one or more preferred)

  • CompTIA Security+
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals or Azure Administrator
  • Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator
  • Okta Certified Professional
  • Other relevant IAM or security certifications

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in identity and access management, systems administration, or related areas

Required Experience Includes
